In which cars are u gonna do this epic road trip?

ReNaGade,

If i am not mistaken from Delhi you have to take jaipur, Jodhpur, Abu, Palanpur, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Surat, Valsad, Vapi, Panvel ( Bombay ) and take a road to panaji.

Ajmer- Kankroli 200kms
Kankroli - Udaipur 63kms
Udaipur - Himatnagar 170kms
Himatnagar - Gandhinagar 51kms
Gandhinagar - Ahmedabad 28kms

Ahmedabad- Kheda 25kms
Kheda- Anand 50kms
Anand - Vadodara 48kms
Vadodara - Bharuch 82kms
Bharuch - Navsari 94kms

Are Kp..

There is Ahmedabad Baroda Express way and it is the best. It will take one hour only.

Delhi - Mumbai (GQ, NH8) - You can easily do with a night halt, you can also do it nonstop with two drivers if u wish (Probably take you 20 hours...)

From Mumbai to Goa, you have 2 choices, NH17 coastal highway (you can also check out beaches/places in MH like Guhager, Ratnagiri etc) or the faster route NH4 till Belgaum and then into goa (Pls check moralfibre's thread, where he did Pune - Goa in that route)

Abhi

This may help you in some way. But he had taken a much longer trip.

Id be taking my Palio Stile 1.6.

Delhi to Goa is about 1900 kms, at an average speed of 50 kmph (including chai paani and p*ss stops) we would need 38 hours of driving. We drive 12 hours on the 13th, 12 hours on the 14th and 14 hours on the 15th to reach Goa on 15th night. Where we stay the two night halt we need to determine on which town comes at the respective milestones. We can plan that later but who all are GAME? Id be taking my new Palio Stile 1.6, i think it's a good enough machine for this trip.

Palio will be good but you will have to careful from Baroda to Valsad.
You can take 1st halt at Ahmedabad and another at Chiplun after Mumbai.

The Ajmer route is history now. U take a left from before Ajmer onto the golden quad and reach udaipur via chittor. a 4lane nirvana!

RenaGade:
13th October, 4am: Leave for gurgaon to get onto NH-8. U may take a breakfast half at Maharaja restaurant, around 2hrs from Delhi. U will be crossing Jaipur by 8:30 (including breakfast break). Take a left from Kishangarh and take NH79 to Chittor and then NH 76 to Udaipur. Bypass Ajmer route, it is not 4lane. Udaipur se, get on to nh8 to ahmedabad. Delhi to Ahmedabad this way is 900, doable in 12 drivin hours. add in 3 hrs for breaks, and u shd be in AHM by 7pm. It is the best place for a night stay (Udaipur will be done by 3pm..)

14th October: 6am. U will cross Vadodra by 8 easily, and shd be on the outskirts of mumbai (490kms) by 3pm. Take a left well before u hit the main city for Thane, and from there ask directions to NaviMumbai/Panvel and then the expressway to Pune, which u shd reach by 8pm. Take the night here (660kms for the day).

15th October :6am, leave for the new katraj bypass on to NH4. Pune to Belgaum is 331kms/6 hours including breakfast break. From Belgaum, take the amboli ghat route to Panaji, another 161kms/4 hours. Total kms for the day : 492kms. U shd be in Panaji by 4-5pm.

Grand total : 2052kms

on the way back, u can take the panaji-mumbai highway (instead of going via belgaum/pune)

Indeed sounds like an epic trip. Do drive carefully and try to cover as much ground as possible during daylight. And, ofcourse dont even think of making this trip without a camera:p

Goodluck and drive safe and enjoy the trip and do post lot of pics and a detailed travelogue upon your return.

It is known as the Thane Ghorbundur road...That left turn is easily identifiable as it is a big junction with lots of fancy hotels/motels..

No need to go upto belgaum. on NH4 after Nipani about 7 km, there is a turning right to Aajra 30 km, then onto Amboli 40 km, sawantwadi 30 km, panji 70 km. distances approximte. Belgaum panaji route is horrible do not try it.

Yup Belgaum-Goa road is bad. Went through tilari just before monsoons and it was horrid. Can only imagine what it must be now. Anmod route is done up but it would be longer.
