Should not be very different from what prevails at Chennai, which incidentally happens to be the best summer in my 19 years here. Never remember getting such rains during Jun-Jul in any other year.

And Pondy is a place you could visit any time. Go for it.

Never ask for the right time to visit a place like Pondy. If its too hot have loadsa beer, does Pondy have winter at all ?

Drive down and enjoy the cheapness of fuel for humans and vehicles.

Quite a few travelogues on the forum which could be of help.

Do make your bookings in advance too.

Anytime is a good time in Pondy. Its on the coast, so expect warm, humid climate. If it rains/drizzles, good for you.

Erm, I don't think most of you guys know the alternate meaning of pondy.

There's never a wrong time to pondy.

Well said, akroy. Like in "Alto, let's go".

Pondy to me is a place I love and would not even think much before driving off to. Only thing is, I would like to do it on a Sunday to avoid the weekday traffic. Also, the laidback French-style place looks better and is best enjoyed without crowds.
