I got a chance to catch a flight from New Delhi's new 1D terminal for domestic departures couple of weeks back. Very impressive terminal they have built. Huge number of chairs for people to sit and wait. Ofcourse, like all terminals, food is overpriced. But the variety is pretty decent.

I have noticed airport terminals selling bottled stuff above MRP. Considering there is no "service" and these kiosks are just shacks selling stuff, isn't this illegal? who do you complain to?

Yeah! Please make sure you call em up before leaving for the terminal.
There were people, in my case, who were following delay updates from home. Smart flyers I say!

The new thing For KF domestic is "clubbing".

Basically you could go online and pay a little extra for a Kingfisher Airlines flight, land up at the airport and be informed:

Sir, it has been clubbed with the Kingfisher Red flight.

SO basically pay for Kingfisher and fly Deccan. How unethical is that!?

Since you are frequent flyer, how would you rate em now? 4 stars 3.5 ?

CDG is just about the worst airport in Europe, no planning, no upkeep, no signs, no power or internet points working. Drive around in buses for half-hour all around the airport before you reach the airplane or the terminal.
AF itself has attitude issues of staff, poor baggage relay record etc etc.
You can say that again. i flew through CDG in Jan and the security check and immigration went on for 2 hrs and you drive ages around the airport to reach your aircraft or terminal.

When I land in chennai, the immigration took just 2 mins.

You know PP, if you're on the Kingfisher flight, it is still 5 stars. But on ground they don't rank with the best.
They have definitely lost my faith with this "clubbing" business.

I'm beginning to drift more and more towards Jet Airways of late. Their quiet efficiency and professionalism seems to be the long run winner.

the same thing happened to me on my last trip to tirupati sam, the only diff i saw was food was being served complementary to the people with kf tickets, while the one with airdeccan tickets had to pay up.

Immigration checks in Chennai

You can be lucky. You can also be very unlucky.

It seems that sometimes they have been asked to read every word in every person's passport, and to ask each person a number of questions, whilst, at others, it is a glance and a rubber stamp.

Coming in on Saturday, immigration was quick, but Swine Flu screening preceded it. I wondered if they had been told to be quick due to the fact that everybody had already spent a while in the flu queue.

I am planning to Fly from Mumbai to Raipur during Diwali.

While I do advanced bookings for railway travel I am not sure how things go for such an advanced booking for Air Travel.

I am getting a good deal at JetLite. How are they?

@ Technocrat - Avoid JetLite ! As I said earlier it's a pathetic, antiquated airline that's consistently unpunctual.. Try Indigo instead !

Oh time for another quick review

Airline-Indigo
Sector-> Delhi - Bangalore
Pros
Well presented neat airline. Clean and modern shuttle service. The flight took off and landed on time.

Strike rate for finding a smart air hostess -33.3%

Cons
1. Was a asked Rs 120 for the seat near the emergency exit.
2.Limited Legroom

Recently, I flew Jet Konnect from BLR -> Delhi. Wasn't even aware that Jet has introduced this new intermediate level above Jet Lite.

Experience : Don't take it. The crew is not trained to handle 'sell' food to guests. They forget what is ordered, forget about the change, take forever to serve, didn't clear away the bottles, plates etc for too long - in short, Jet Lite is better. Maybe, the planes are newer in Jet Konnect ?

Spice Jet, Indigo etc are any day better.

@revvedup, landing in Delhi on time ? What time was your flight ? That's almost impossible, what with aircraft forced to circle Delhi for 20-30 minutes minimum. Afterwards, it needs to taxi 15-20 minutes to parking slot, and then 10 minutes by bus. So, my calculations are that even if the aircraft leaves BLR on time, it will be 30-60 minutes delayed.

The only time I was booked on Jet Lite I was told that they dont offer any cabin service so I ate a heavy breakfast etc..at 6am only to be served a hot breakfast in the cabin an hour or so later. On my return flight (from Bangalore) I was booked on Jet Lite too and again I was served a full meal in the air. I did not see any difference between Jet Lite and Jet (except the ticket price was lower). Funny? or was I just lucky. No wonder I am putting on weight!
