I think, though, that the max. weight per bag is 23K, on account of worker health regulations.

This stuff seems to change at the drop of a hat (hat? carry on? allowed? Or a security risk, maybe...). Important to check before each trip.

Guys where can I check the exact permissible baggage limit?

I checked their website and their description is as confusing as their baggage handling capabilities - British Airways - Baggage essentials

Handbaggage details over here

Checked baggage over here

How long is your stop over? Since you will be switching terminals, there a likelihood of your bags going AWOL if your transfer is less than two hours. Ask for priority tags.

At SFO, if your bags do not appear, the BA staff sit at a counter on the left as you exit Immigration. Is someone meeting you at SFO? Make sure you give oyur details and get a case number.

Thanks a ton Ajit. Now I got it very clear:

For checked in baggage:
- 2 x 32 kgs with dimensions of (H+W+L): 158cm (62in)

For hand baggage:
- 1 x 23 kgs 56x45x25cm (22x17.5x9.85in) (including wheels, pockets and handles) plus --
- 1 x laptop bag.

Stop over is for 3 hours approximately. I shall opt for priority tags nonetheless.

Thanks for the precise guide. I am now confident that team-bhp can provide much more info than the BA call center agent I spoke to! Yes my colleague is picking me up at SFO.

Great help there Ajit. I am so thankful.

I can confirm to you that almost all other airlines offer @ pcs of 23kgs each when travelling trans-atlantic.

I can also confirm to you that currently ONLY British Airways allows 2X32 kgs and this is 100% confirmed too.

One of my favourites. I got in early to have a meal there but since the gate was not announced, i decided to wait since the furthest gate took 30 min in the mayhem. In the end, all i had was a sandwich!

Nah.. Thats the fee you will have to pay to a Deccan air hostess in order to change their facial expression from a smirk to a smile .

I guess the reason behind the permanent smirk on their face is because they are probably heavily underpaid compared to King Fisher, even though they wear similar uniforms and work for the same guy now.

Depending on the aircraft, you may get an emergency exit with a recline button.

I don't care.

In a one hour flight, the window to use the recline button is 15 minutes - tops.

Let me explain
The first 15 minutes the seat belt sign is on.
Then when its off, the meals are served, your chair needs to be upright so as to not inconvenience the guy eating behind.
The last 15 minutes, the seat belt sign is on.
