yeah.. this is a gud move by the government to explore new technologies. Sure, there will be bugs.. even I'm a software engineer who gets bugged everyday

Meanwhile not sure if you have seen this. The following is the link for ministry of road transport and highways. It has all the NH numbers and routes.

That is just a digital information center, i think. But the prev site has done a more helpful service by adding maps and such calculations (though its buggy) to the users.

anyway we will only use mapmyindia or google to find out the distance and locations, if we need correct information
