Best road to KGudi

Hi all, I've a booking in Jungle lodges for the 1st of sep(sat), still not very sure of going because of work.
But anyway, if I happen to go, what would be the best route given the present road conditions?

The routes I know of are:

1) Blr-Kanakpura-Malavalli-Kollegal-Yellandur-KGudi

2) Blr-Maddur-Malavalli-Kollegal-Yellandur-KGudi

3) Blr-Mysore-Nanjangud-Chamarajanagar-KGudi

Anybody who's traveled along any of the above roads in the recent past please help.

Thanks.

Hari, I will always bet for Route3...
Route1 is NO since 2003, don't know when the roads will improve.

of course, the first option is a definite no-no. the second option isn't too wonderful either. i do not know of the third.

all the way from maddur to malavalli, it's a dirt track strewn with stones and rubble - a most unpleasant drive, and totally avoidable unless you drive an SUV. beyond that, i cannot tell.

Hey Neoranjit, I went on the Bl-Mysore-nanjangud-chamarajnagar-Kgudi route, I beleive that's the best as of now.
Only on reaching Nanjangud, do not take the left at he railway crossing which has a board saying Kgudi, instead take the left further ahead which goes through town even though it's conjested with ppl milling around and once you reach the temple, take the road which goes behind the temple to get out of town.
The other road from the railway crossing is hell till you leave town.
Rest of the journey is ok with not so bad roads after Chamarajnagar.

Hope you get this in time. Happy motoring.

Riju, got some not so good snaps this time, though came across some herbivores in the safari, snaps have a bit of shake(maybe due to cold or old age) so did not post a travelogue this time.

Ok Riju.
Can you elaborate on how to get to Nanjangud via Mysore?

Thanks!

, you only need to pass a 500 meter 3 minutes dirty non-existing road, but its the best route to take.

I did the same route during my 4 day stay trip to K-Gudi and Boodipadaga last year.

amitoj you cant loose your way man. Simply follow the sign boards towards ooty from Mysore and the very 1st town after Mysore is Nanjangud.

Enter mysore city and follow the road to Ooty. 1st landmark would be Kamat on your left right after the palace exhibition grounds , this is where Nanjangud road starts.

Next watch out for 2 lakes on to your right en route. From there on its a single road and no deviations.

Oh. I was thinking of taking the Mysore ring road. I should not do that?
