Hello to All,

We have planned a road trip Pune to Assam, coming mid September.

I have planned following route using google and Team-BHP research on various threads. we need your valuable suggestions to fine tune this route to make my solo driving less stressful.

The planned route as follows in two sections. Kindly click on the link that opens in G-Map.

1. Pune to Jabalpur through new Samruddhi highway.

Pune - Nasik Highway - Take diversion to Samrudhi Mahamarg before Nasik. Take a stop in between to Shegaon for the Darshan. Shegaon - Nagpur - Jabalpur.

2. Jabalpur to Assam

Jabalpur to Gorakhpur bypass to join East-West Purvanchal highway to reach Assam though Silligudi.

I did part of this route during our road trip from Bengaluru to Assam. Details here

Any reason for going to Gorakhpur? Another option is to go to Muzaffarpur from Varanasi and take NH-27 from Muzaffarpur.

Attaching a quote from other thread.

From Mirzapur city take road to Varanasi and take bypass before entering city.
Take Gazipur exit from bypass (this will be post crossing Sarnath exit). From exit keep on 4 lane till Gorakhpur bypass and then take right towards Kushinagar- Gopalganj - Muzaffarpur - Araria - Dalkhola - Kishanganj and onwards towards Asom. The time will be more or less same going via Patna but will have less traffic issues. Hope this helps to plan your trip.

In addition to the suggestions above, you can refer to this -

Took my Kia Seltos IMT on a 2435 km road trip across 7 states in 4 days

Although this is opposite direction, it is still relevant from Nagpur onwards. Road conditions wouldn't have changed much within 18 months. I had done this in December'22.

@IP_Man - From Jabalpur you can take Jabalpur - Rewa - Hanumana - Mirzapur Bypass - Chunar - Mohania - Patna route. I did this route earlier this month and can be easily done in 12hrs as roads are excellent except 2 lane section of Bihta to Patna and bypasses at Katni and Rewa. Advantage will be better stay options and with early start you can easily travel towards Muzaffarpur. On Varanasi - Gorakhpur road a bridge was incomplete at Barhalganj, so need to go through town which is prone to jams. Rest your choice of route is equally good.
