A week in hand, where to go?

Now that's a good problem to have...

Half the trip is planned already. What is finalized so far is:
29th: Leave Chennai and reach Srirangapattana by lunch via Bangalore. Visit fort, maybe the bird sanctuary. Spend the night there at Amblee resort.
30th: Leave in the morning and reach Bush Betta resorts in Bandipur by noon. Stay on for 3 nights till 2nd Oct.

I have time till 6th (Saturday) when I intend to be back in Chennai. I will have my kids along so would like the entire trip to be more of stay and less of travel. Max 4-5 hours per day inside the car, every alternate day no travel.

2nd-3rd: I am thinking Wyanad, but flexible.
4th to 6th: ?

Please feel free to suggest alternatives, routes, where NOT to go etc.

6th morning if you are leaving for chennai, then you got 4th & 5th.
and i am assuming you cant afford to travel south of Bandipur/Wayanad!

in that case, options below..

1.You can drive back to ooty..stay and come back via Mudumalai/Bandipur..though Ooty - Chennai would be a 12hrs affair.

2. Wayanad-Mysore-Coorg..stay..and leave to chennai from there.
You got pretty good estates to stay there..and places to checkout.

3. Mysore itself got options to spend with family/kids.

in any case, when you are in Bandipur, ask for Gopalswamy betta..

Since you are going to BushBetta, it will be wise to go to Ooty/Coonor/Kotagiri and spend the remaining time there...King's Cliff is good option for a leisure stay..

How do I get from the GQ (Chennai to Bangalore) to the Mysore highway? Map does not show the outer ring road connecting the two.
