Planning trip towards Bangalore tomorrow checking if there was rain that side which has deteriorated the bad sections.

Anmod to Ramnagar is literally doesn't have roads irrespective of rains. Instead, take right at "Dudsagar waterfall sign board" towards Castlerock and go via Durg (village roads with better pot holes:coldsweat but very few opposite traffic), Asu and join at Ramnagar. Recommend this route in day time because of almost nil traffic and less habitations enroute.

Thanks.
Since it was raining continuously I did not want to go right up to Anmod and take chance on the Tinai ghat section. Also a previous post said too many potholes via Durg. So, ended up driving all the way through Karwar - Hubli.

Just after Arabail ghat starts got stuck for 30mins, the ghat has big potholes and on the turns/bends, huge long trucks taking long time to manoeuvre those turns and a couple breakdowns. Took 2 and half hours extra to reach Bangalore from what I usually take via Anmod.

Is the Rangarook diversion road active, any one tried in last couple of weeks? Google shows that the Khanapur-Anmod after the Two bridges and creek section is closed.

Hello,

Have to head to Panaji tomorrow. Google map shows road closure at Tinai Ghat railway crossing. Can anyone who has used the route recently advise the latest status? I would much rather take a route that's safer than risking getting stuck in slush or the apparent overnight traffic jam.

Any advice?

If you check the posts just above yours, you can get answer to your query.

A friend is travelling this route this week and was asking if the 6 laning work of the highway of the Cuncolim, Canacona Karwar stretch has been finished or not. I had no idea so asking here.

The total distance from Karwar to Cuncolim is about 52 Kms.

Karwar to Goa border, perhaps 10-12 Kms. Four lane work completed.

Inside Goa border upto Mashem village by pass: It's about 7 Kms or so.. it is two lane, very well laid good road

Mashem bypass to Canacona by pass - about 10 kms - 4 lane NH completed

Canacona to Cuncolim: About 23 Kms. This is two lane, passing through Karmal ghat and this section will slow you down a bit, if you come across a slow moving truck / bus on the ghat. The roads are good though without any potholes.

Yes I did read that before posting but nobody seems to have taken the Ramnagar Anmod section recently. I saw a note talking about a section being completely muddy/washed away. I recognise that notorious section right before the railway crossing. Don't want to drive all the way there and get stuck in a jam. Apparently there was one recently.

Have to go to Panaji so Karwar route will be a bit longish.

Thinking, Haveri, Tadas, Kalaghatagi, Kudalagi, Durg, Anmod route. But also worried about the craters on Durg route.

Super confused.

Haveri, Tadas, Anmod??

You should take Bangalore-Hubli Bypass-Kalaghatagi-Yellapur-Karwar-South Goa. 100% peace of mind. Yes, long, but fast at places.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I think Karwar route it is! Have young kids in the car so peace of mind is most important than being stranded in a low cell coverage area.

we did bangalore - Siolim - Bangalore beginning of this month. we took the Tinai ghat road both ways which is in a fairly decent condition. yes there are pot holes but nothing any car can't handle. All the GA registered vehicles were taking this route both ways

Thanks. Thats good to hear.

When you mention Tinai Ghat road, you mean the NH748 / Ramanagar - Anmod - Mollem route itself? (The purple line in pic)

Or took diversion to the forest section from Tinai Ghat via Akheti and joined at Anmod? (Yello line in pic)

we took the road via forest

Hello everyone! Happy Diwali in advance. I am planning to Goa in my XL6 around mid-November. Basis the posts on this thread have finalized this route.

Return and Onward: Hosur > Davengere > Ranebennur > Hirekerur > Jog > Honnaver > Karwar > Canacona > Agonda

How is this route, as on Google maps it is showing a different route. I will stay at Colva. This is the route map I made - https://maps.app.goo.gl/kpTwAT8471TsWyNu5 - Custom Goa route

Thanks in Advance. Cheers!

Okay. Thanks. Can you let know what was the reason you didn't take the straight / highway route?
- Was it blocked?
- Or was it due to mentions of that being in bad shape here / from other drivers on road there?

To reach Mapusa, i guess the best bet would be via Hubli, Darwad, Chorla, Mapusa...Any idea on the current road conditions..any other alternative better (scenic) route
