Bangalore - Goa : Route Queries

Even though Anmod is closed for widening, does anybody know why google is showing that route for ages now? I thought they will eliminate that route since no transport is happening there.

I am not sure how google map works but I guess it is showing road open because of movement of vehicle used for road construction/widening. Operators might be using Android mobile phones and everyone of us is aware how good Google is at maintaining privacy.

P.S. - I might be totally wrong with above assumptions. Experts, please correct me.

Chorla ghat was bound to be open for traffic by today but since Orange alert continues in Goa there are high chances it will be shut again.

Hi all,

Is there any route possible or available now to head to Goa. I started from bangalore but currently in Hubli as couldn’t get any route open for Goa two days ago, though I heard airavat buses are plying.

Quick suggestions will be helpful. Thanks.

Drove back from Goa on 8th evening and took the Karwar-Honnavar-Sagar-Shivamoga-Tumkuru-BLR route.

Heavy rains in Shivamoga area but road condition throughout is perfectly fine and not much of an issue. No major water logging anywhere and it's just how roads in monsoon would be.

This was shared today morning on WAG. Translates to "NH206 is closed because of landslides between honnavar - mavinagundi. Anyone traveling to shivamoga please take alternate routes"

On my way to Goa from Bangalore. From hubbali the only open option is hubbali - Sirsi - Kumta - Karwar - Goa. All good so far. Almost reaching Goa. Left 4am. Tx.

Road condition is good, though the route is a bit lengthy. But then that was the only option available at that moment.

Glad to know. Thanks for the updates. Have a road trip planned starting 14th August. Hopefully things will be much better by that time.

Also if possible please share conditions in Goa. Is there effect of flood, shortage of resources or everything is normal?

Good to read this article. Thanks for the update. Need to visit home in last week of August. At least one route is open now.

Wasn't anmod undergoing a lane up gradation ? I read somewhere that the anmod ghats stretch had been closed for the past few months on account of the road works happening.

Anyone travelling via Anmod, please update status and road conditions. As per earlier post, it seems to have been opened for traffic, but Google maps still shows its closed.
Will be travelling from BLR on the 15th. I believe NH4 upto Hubli is fine, is that correct?
