Eicher Road Atlas of India is very unreliable, and the best buys are the district-wise State maps published by TTK and IMS. Eicher state maps are also good.

TTK maps for states

I use the TTK maps for the Southern states. Its like a small book with one district in one page. Also has a map of all big cities in the state. Its served me well till now.

I use TTK Maps & also maps published by Vasan Publications, B'lore.
TTK maps gives details about each indiviuial district and also important places to be seen in the respective district.
Vasan publication maps has important routes (>100) with line diagram & distances in each state.
Even the Google & yahoo maps are helpul but directions & distances provided between non-prominent places are not reliable.

Hi,

I've recently been using a road atlas by Anada Sahitya Prakashan and Gyan Vigyan Prakashan, both are from Ahmedabad. The maps in there have proved to be quite accurate till now. I actually picked the Hyd - Jadcherla - Srisailam route out of this atlas

I recently bought some Eicher maps for south Indian states and found them to be wanting badly in details. Think I made a mistake by not going for TTK. Even the state maps are pathetic with only the main roads such as NH and some SHs marked. The Bangalore city map, which costs Rs 200 is full of inaccuracies, especially for the comparatively newer areas of Koramagala, HSR Layout and Whitefield. I think these are printed at least 10 years back.

Rough Guide is a good resource. Their maps are fine. You'll get those laminated sheets, ideal for keeping in the car.

Very True. Dont buy Eicher at all. It foxes you very sincerely with bad road markings and in correct route details. I got lost in kerala following this atlas, and had to call up Ripper for route assistance.
Lejhoom: Can you provide some details about this rough guide?
