The Sabarimala traffic will be very high during this season and the route via Kumili is the shortest route from Trichy/Madurai to Sabarimala.

Guys..it seems the problems with my car have been resolved. My trip is on for 21st December. But unfortunately wont be able to leave early in the morning as my parents are coming from Kolkata by 11. So will leave at around 12 or 1. Honk me if you see the "Silver BOSS"

We may not cross paths this time.. I 'm still planning for 22nd morning. Will be in kerala for almost 2 weeks. Driving back on 5th Jan. Route not decided.

Driving down on 25th. Yes, thats right...25th!! Actually not going for anything related to Christmas but because of other personal obligations.

Have a friend who's driving to Kollam from BLR on 21st. Any inputs on the Bangalore--> Kanakapura -->Chamarajanagar-->Kollegal-->Sathyamangalam-->CBE route and further ?

I 've heard that this stretch is not v good. I 'm planning to take the Mysore Gudalur Nilambur Perinthalmanna Chavakkad (NH 17) route. Hope the same would be better for your friend too. Someone was mentioning about the bad roads on the Sathyamangalam - CBE route

Aby, I heard that the ghat road between Nilambur and Gudalur was closed due to heavy landslides. And not in a position to be repaired easily..

Just check with anybody travelled recently.. I'm also travelling on 21st to plkd. But planning to take GQ-Mettur-NH47 because of this.

Did you get this info from someone who travelled recently. I do know of a landslide during the last rainy season. But my bro's friend from Nadugani said it was repaired and traffic resumed. I 'm planning to callup some hotel guys also to findout the actual state there.

I posted a similar query few days back and got responses saying the road is now repaired and traffic has resumed.
