I meant some folks would like to stay in the main Madikeri town.
That's why I said its not the main area.

Any way I would prefer such home-stays only !

The other problem is that if you are going for weekend you will need to decide if you want to spend you time more in wildlife or as a first time visitor you would like to visit regular tourist places (Talacauvery/Rajaseat etc). I think both may not be possible for Sat/Sun kind of visit. One has to make a choice of one against the other.

I guess the words "main Coorg" in previous post were not correct. Just wanted to clarify this point.

@ampere: No problem man. I understand what you meant and guess its there on every tourists mind if to visit madikeri side or to come towards nagarhole side.
No offence man.

Reviving a year old thread...

I plan to visit Coorg this month. There are couple of home stays that fall under my criteria

RIVER SIDE RESORTS

This is located 15 kms before Madikeri @ Suntikoppa...Not sure whether this would be an ideal location for visiting tourist places in & around Coorg. Any inputs?

Also liked this place, but since its run by individual no arrangements for coffee/tea or food

The owner of RSC (River side cottage) promptly alerted that it would be difficult for my Baleno to see through the entrance road....else I would have opted that. One way, I am happy that she inspite of risking her business opportunity warned me about that. That time I opted for honey pot homes Honeypothomes, Coorg homestay, Coorg homestays and Coorg hotels :: Home

Re: Coorg recommendations

@Surprise,

Thats an amazing compilation! Great one, and all in one place.
Especially, one knows about the name of the place, but finding the portal is problematic.

Thanks.

Re: Coorg recommendations

Hi, we are leaving for Coorg tomorrow morning. Need your help in finalising the plan.

I made a draft plan as below, just see if its fine keeping in mind the crowd (hate too much of crowd), best time to visit each place in terms of ambience and opening/closing time of the place

Mon- 6:30 am start from Bannerghatta road, Bangalore and take the Mysore-Hunsur-Madikkeri road
9:00am - Breakfast (place, pls suggest)
11:00am - Tibetan settlement
1:00pm lunch at Madikkeri (place, pls suggest)
2:30pm Cofee Creek homestay, Maidkkeri
4:30pm - 7:00pm - Raja seat and Omkareshwara temple

Tue - 7:00am Nisargdhama (any restriction on early morning entry?)
9:00am Dubare elephant camp (do not know when the interaction with elephants start, is it possible to reach back by 10:00am for brekafast at Coffee Creek?)
10:00-1:30pm - exploring Zahed's estate and resting at CC.
1:30pm - lunch at Madikkeri (place, pls suggest)
2:00pm to 6:00pm - Harangi dam, Iguthappa temple, Nalknad palace (dont know in which order)

Wed - start at 6:30am for Talacauvery and Bhagamandala
10:00am breakfast at CC (possible?)
11:00 am to 12:30pm rest at CC
1:30pm lunch at Orange County, spend the evening there or drive around (pls suggest some scenic routes).

Thursday - start by 7:00am for Nagerhole and return to Bangalore via Muthanga (possible to cover Thirunelli temple?, not interested in Kuruva or Iruppu as water would be less)
Lunch (pls suggest)

Thank you in advance
