Where is this homestay located? Can you please post a google link?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Have you been to Hotel Mayura? I need a query answered.

They have Non-AC Executive Double Room costing 1800/- and Non-AC Deluxe Double Room costing 2800/-.

What is the difference between these two?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I have stayed there in April 2010. We had an AC suite and it was a very big room with new interiors after renovation (and it was priced Rs.2500 then). I do not know the difference between the room types Executive and Deluxe, maybe you can just call up the front desk at the hotel or the KSTDC office in Bangalore to clarify.

Re: Coorg recommendations

A family friend is looking for a 2N/3D stay in Coorg. 5 family members. Any suggestions for a home stay near the bus stand within 3K a day/room? They want to stay together it seems.

Thanks

Just completed a six days bangalore-Coorg-Mysore trip.

Stayed in Hotel Valley View in Madikeri for the other day.

If anyone has any queries about these hotels please ask.

@skdking - This thread/forum would benefit if you could pen down your (short?) reviews of these places so that we can hear from the horse's mouth
I think this would be better than waiting for specific questions from members regarding these places.

Re: Coorg recommendations

Few months back, did a 2 day trip to Coorg. Here was the itinerary:

Day 1:
1) Started from Mandya at 6 AM. Originally planned to have breakfast at Hunsur, but at 7:30, people were few still asleep and it was too early. Hence had breakfast at Kushalnagara at 8:30.
2) Reached Dubare at around 9. Activities you can do are bath elephants, watch them feed & take a ride. Spent time there till 11:30. Note that if you want to bath elephants, you have to reach before 9:30.
3) Reached Madikeri and had lunch at East End Hotel. Later checked in at Hotel Hills.
4) Started from Hotel at 4:30, visited Fort. There is a small museum
5) Later went to Raja seat. There is a toy train for kids. Had a good view of sunset. There is a musical fountain too.
6) Then visited Omkareshwara Temple. Later had dinner and went to bed.

Day 2:
1) Checked out from hotel, had breakfast in Madikeri and started for Talacauvery.
2) Visited Triveni Sangama & Bhagamandaleshwara Temple at Bhagamandala on the way.
3) Completed the climb at Talacauvery and at 1:30, started back for Madikeri.
4) Couldn't find any restaurant and hence again had lunch at East End Hotel.
5) After lunch, visited Abbi falls and at 5PM, started back home.
6) Visited the Tibetian Monastery at Bylakuppe and finally headed home.
Place(s) didn't cover: Nisargadhama.

This is quick overview of our tourist trip. Hope it helps.

Re: Coorg recommendations

When I was in Madikeri last May, I heard about a place called Mandal-Pati where, according to the source, only 4X4 vehicles can go. It is basically a hill from where one can do a little trekking and the sunset is very beautiful. anyone visited this place? Would love to see the pictures.

Re: Coorg recommendations

Am planning a trip from Bangalore to a place near Virajpet in Coorg. What is the preferred route given the present condition of the roads? I read that from a place beyond Hunsur, they are in a bad state...
