Coorg recommendations

Planning to do an extended weekend at Coorg. Plan is to have a nice drive then do some nature exploration by trecking (medium).

So guys and gals with experience in this part of the world, pour in suggestion as well as places to visit list.

thanks in advance,
Jaggu

Nowadays, the coffee estate owners are letting their houses for rent (just like lodging). You can get booking done from Bangalore itself. The places to visit are: Talakaveri/Elephant dubbare/Bandipur wildlife santury (actually you can drive in this)/Irruppu falls/Maharaja's seat etc.

Will recommend the home stays. Avoid Orange county as much as possible. That place has come to it's worst now. They've renovated some parts recently but still their very famous hospitality has taken a hit.

Palace Estate, Kings cottage, Honey Valley - Pick from these.

Close proximity to Thadiyendamol and great section of Coorg to stay in. Just search for T-Bhpian "NIP" postings on the same subject. Plenty of info.

NIP's has shortlisted places in Coorg which are really worth visiting, besides all the usual places. Worth a read and lookup for sure. Some of the places however would require the use of a Jeep.

Akroy and Riju (Rjstyles69) have covered the others.

well misty woods...all i've heard is the prices are exotic and nothing else. like souljah pointed out, Palace Estate, Kings cottage, Honey Valley are the best places. of these, i would consider honey valley to be really exotic.

hey jaggu...what dates have you booked kings cottage ?! we have booked from 29th to 31st dec...we're planning a small NY bash there as well !
