Yahoo!! is also reproting it!!!! The source is of course, Economic Times.

Reliance to shut petrol retail outlets - paper

Seems more like a gimmick to see if the goverment machinery will budge to shower some subsidies on it.

On Nh2 - Durgapur expresseway Between Kolkata and Panagarh this is the only one Dhaba with All Amenties , location is near a Place call Gopalpur
just before Palsit Toll plaza. this Dhaba known as Ghar Dhaba and
Run by Bharat Petroleum its offers same facilities as Reliance A1 Plaza.
Nice and clean toilets for Ladies and gents with fine dining facilities.

Stopped at a Reliance A1 Plaza yeterday near Moregram while coming back from Siliguri. This was non-functional last December. The food was very bad to say the least. The best A1 plazas I have seen are in AP.

The A1 near Kolaghat bridge on NH-6 isn't bad. Went there last month - was fully operational. If the A1 plazas shut down, it's bad news for highway travellers, from the perspective of clean toilets, safe rest area etc. Not that worried about the food part of it, since there are many dhabas anyway...

Have the A1 Plaza during my trip to Mumbai and Kodai; good food, ambience and of course their rest rooms; wonder what we will have to do on long journeys as even the local hotels or Dhabas dont have a good rest rooms.

The ones in Ranibennur & Sira were not operational, not sure about the Chitradurga one. Alternatively you could stop at Ghar Dhaba (BPCL) at Ranibennur or Vittala Kamath on a HPCL pump between Haveri and Hubli (25 kms after Haveri), its got good food, clean toilets and super service

Both the Reliance A1 Plazas on the Baroda-Ahmedabad expressway are open, but the high-end Refresh cafeteria is closed.

The BPCL ghar is a little further to the reliance a1 plaza towards ranibennur on the same side the vittal kamath is between haveri and hubli on the left hand side when you go towards hubli
