The blue route is the one we originally planned with Google's help.
The green is the one we actually took , coz we got lost on the way and enjoyed it a lot .
The Red is the best and fastest route to visit Chikka Tirupathi from Marathahalli.

Thanks. I am not aware of both the blue and green routes! Thanks for pointing.
I know the regular red route and the Sarjapur route.

Well the green is not actually a route. It was us getting lost in the village routes. We kept asking people for directions to Chikka Tirupathi and got contradicting answers from each one. Finally one of them suggested we go to Sarjapur and go from there. So what should have been a journey of around 30 Kms took around 50 Kms .

! I once did a full circle.

Yelahanka-ORR-KR Puram- Hope Farm-Chikka Tirupati- Srjapur-Domsandra-Varthur-NH4-BIAL Road-Bagalur-Yelahanka.

It was quite some fun! Thats when I found that from the NH207 White Field road junction, the road till Chikka Tirupati is OK but quite fun to drive through fields and villages.

re: Bangalore to Chikka Tirupathi : Route Queries

Route through Whitefield, NH207 to Chikka Tirupati is in good condition, except few kms of not so good road from whitefield to NH207. Nothing major though, definitely manageable.

From Kamannahalli and back it takes about 3-4 hours.

There has been an overall improvement on the status of NH207.
The road from Sarjapur to Chikka Tirupathi is also beautiful.
Even beyond Sarjapur, the road is very good all the way up to Baglur.

One the fly in the ointment is the need for a decent by-pass to Sarjapur while coming from Sarjapur road.

We don't even need a super fine tarmac.
A tarmac would just do! Crossing Sarjapur is that bad to say the least.

re: Bangalore to Chikka Tirupathi : Route Queries

While coming back on NH7 and if wanting to hit somewhere near Hoskote, is NH207 the best option or the Attibele-Ganjur-Varthur-Whitefield road is better?

Thanks in advance.

I am not sure how safe is NH207 at nights.
But if you just ask about the road, its very good and has lesser traffic.
But again I am sure of road status from Whitefield Hopefarm Y-Junction of NH207 to Hoskote. (@Airguitar would be the right person to make a statement on that).

You will also have trouble finding the Baglur road at Hosur.
A better option would be to take the SH35 (Varthur road) to Sarjapur and then take teh NH207 from there. But then you have to go through the infamous horrible by-pass at Sarjapur.

Taking SH35 (Varthur road) all the way to Whitefield may also land you into
traffic problem (esp. Varthur town).

Overall yes NH207 is a better option. But suggestion would to take the Attibele route and cross Sarjapur town and take the NH207.

Conditions around Sarjapur remain the same. You need to go round on that partially rammed mud road. And given the fact that its
raining these days, be prepared for some slush as well. Beyond Sarjapur all the way till Chikka Tirupathi road condition is very good.

Just came from Chikka Thirupathi.

Took a right turn at hope farm circle (coming from whitefield forum value mall road), took right at Channasandra and straight to the destination through NH207. Roads are in very good condition throughout this route.

If one is coming from Hopefarm/Whitefield side, the roads are very good.
In fact there has been considerable improvement over NH207 in the last year.

NH207 is very nicely done. But the access is always a trouble. Even if you route yourself via Sarjapur, crossing that town is a pain. But I think the whole of 207 has been fully tarred.

re: Bangalore to Chikka Tirupathi : Route Queries

Hi All,

I am planning to do this short trip this Saturday for Mundan ceremony of my 9 month old boy. I will be starting from HSR Layout. What should be the best route? How long will it take and what is the best time to reach there for Mundan. Any contact details/directions would really help.

Thx
