Srirangapatna to Hunsur : Road condition?

Am heading to Nagarhole this weekend and wondering if I can take the Srirangapatna to Hunsur road as against entering Mysore. Anyone tried this road recently?

Road is excellent. Dont worry. you need not have to take Mysore Ring road.
Right turn after Srirangapatnam (Bird Santuary / PowerGrid etc) to hunsur Road is about 18km.

From the turn off the Mysore Road its ok in parts, a little rough in patches, but pretty all along. Once you meet Hunsur Road - just past Yelwala the fun really begins! Lovely tarmac - and beautiful curves. Just watch for the unmarked and bottom-eating speedbreakers around villages.

Thank you for the replies. Infact I checked the replies during breakfast at Channapatna

I took that route and it was really nice but for a few small potholed stretches. Infact the entire road to Nagarhole was a pleasure to drive, may be due to Mr Rahul Gandhi's visit to Nagarhole last weekend.
