Bangalore - Horanadu : Route Queries

A friend is planning a trip to Horanadu in the next week. Can you guys please let me know the condition of the road from Belur onwards?

The route he plans to take is :
Bangalore-Hassan-Belur-Mudigere-Kottigehara-Kalsa-Hornadu

The road till Kottigehara is very good. Once you turn to SH66 its good till you get exit to Kalasa road. After the exit the road to Balur estate is not all that great.

When is he planning to go? Even I will be driving to Horanadu coming week on Saturday.

Between Javali-Kalasa there is a 10 odd km stretch that is rough, otherwise the route is good.

His plan is to start this Saturday morning by 4.00AM it seems. He is also planning to visit Sringeri. He would be driving a Ford Ecosport - Grey colour.

As ampere has mentioned, road beyond Kalasa is not that great and very narrow. There will be considerable incoming traffic so at corners its very tight, but as the vehicle being driven is Ecosport GC should not be a problem.

Any specific reason to take Sakleshpur route, the road to Mudigere via Anemahal and Hanbal is very narrow, better to opt for Hassan-Belur-Mudigere route as you save lot of time. The ideal travel time to Horanadu with break should be 6 hours at max. Similarly from Dharmasthala to Subramanya consider road via Gundya as it is a better option than SH37.

Yes I am taking that route intentionally. One of my relative is in Sakleshpur and we are stopping by for lunch there.

What is the current condition of the road to Hornadu?

I plan to take the following route;

Mysore - Holenarsipura - Hassan - Belur - Mudigere - Kottigehara - Kelagur - Kalasa - Horanadu.

Also how is the road condition from Horanadu to Sringeri?
