Gurgaon to Bangalore

friends, the time has come when I have decided to make Bangalore my new home & as I want to have my car with me. I have decided to drive dowm from Gurgaon to Bangalore. I am planning to take this trip this weekend

The information i require is:
How much is the distance between Gurgaon - Bangalore?
Which route to follow?
Where to stay in case I have to?

I am planning to hire a Driver so we will be 2 drivers. The Car in question is Ikon 1.6 & has clocked 85K kms so far. it has been recently serviced. Do i need to check anything extra for the trip.

Looking forward to valuable sugeestions from fellow Bhpians.

Cheers,
pankaj

Ideal route is NH8/NH79/NH76/NH8/NH4 via Bombay,

Gurgaon-Jaipur-Kishangarh-Bhilwara-Chittorgarh-Udaipur-Himmatnagar-Ahmedabad-Baroda-Surat-Vapi-Thane/Bombay-Pune-Kolhapur-Belgaum-Hubli-Chitradurga-Bangalore

Distance is around 2,500 kms.

Roads are great except for some dislocations between Baroda and Surat (road widening) and some slow-downs between Ranebennur and Davangere in Karnataka.

You could do it in 3 days, if you avoid night driving. Ideally, you can break on Day 1 at Ahmedabad or Baroda, and Day 2 at Kolhapur or Belgaum.

For day only driving, you don't need a second driver.

And Baroda would be best place to stop. Please time your exit to Surat just fine, else trucks can waste hours in jams, even at 4-5am.

You can also halt at Satara. Ramky knows of a nice highway motel there.
Pls PM ramkya1 for details.

While the route that Kumar has suggested is perfect, remember to embark on your journey after the Gujjar agitation is over. The Rajasthan sector of the route would be troublesome..

Also, once you do this trip, do remember to post a detailed travelogue.. We surely here in Delhi/NCR would miss you..

This weekend? I doubt its possible unless the Gujjar stir is called off. Even the rail links are down, and unless a solution comes up, you have no choice but to wait.

tsk is on the money - dear me!

Look at the Route via Indore/Agra. Should not be too bad, if you can cross Agra in wee hours of morning.

In that case, he should try to Agra - Sagar - Lakhndon - Nagpur - Hyd - Blr route

Roads are not that great near Narshingpur - Sagar (basically on the MP side) but can be doable in day time. Pls avoid night journey. But distance wise shorter as well.

Best thing is to avoid the jaipur route during regular hours now-a-days.

Take the following route(NH3/NH75/NH26/NH7):
Delhi - Agra - Gwalior - Sagar - Narsingpur - Lakhandon - Seoni - Nagpur - Hyd - Bangalore

From Blr till Lakhandon it is NH7, then it NH26 till Sagar, NH75 somewhere near Jhansi and then NH3 (Mumbai - Gwalior - Agra)

If you are going Via Nagpur, cross MP during the day, and make sure you are not caught in any of the remote stretches during night.
Even when travelling in AP, try crossing AP during daylight, as there is some Naxal risk at night.

Till Nagpur I don't know the best way, but for Nagpur to BLR you can read this
