Please search this forum - someone did Jamshedpur-Delhi recently.

here are unfinished portions in Bihar. Not safe to travel at night. Expect jams at check posts and miscellaneous places. 1.5 days sounds too aggressive, make it 3. You should target Allahabad or Varanasi on Day 1 with some aggressive driving.

Don't have much of an idea about the rest of the route, but barhi-ranchi should be fine (my dad used to see the NHs in the state some time back )

Will wait for your travelogue. You just seem to be the right person to ask about the routes of my interest. Delhi-Ranchi / Delhi-Gangtok

Aah, Abhijeet, if the name rings correctly, you were the one who was looking for some 'horns'. Hope you got them.

I would not suggest the NH2 for Varanasi as it passes through the notorious Etawah section. On the contrary take the Hapur bypass and drive straight on NH24 to Moradabad, Rampur, bareilly, Shahajahanpur and beyond. This is a safer route..

We did this route on NH24 till shahjahanpur in December '07 and Jan '08. It is mentioned in our travelogue here - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/route-...onal-park.html
