Thats a lot you have driven in 6 months.

I just thought to warn you regarding spelling and punctuation in your post. I am sure there are lot of places in the north free from the regular tourist that will be heavenly to visit. I heard places close by to Haridwar is also quite good. Details can be provided by the northies, i hope.

Drchernish, it would help to know a few things like budget, length of stay, whether standard cuisine or adventurous, etc..
There is no dearth of places, particularly in Aug which is off-season (EXCEPT the 15th Aug week).

Some suggestions:

- Dhanolti, near Musoorie
- Ranikhet, near Nainital
- Nainital itself or Naukuchiyatal/Bhimtal

Naukuchiya Tal and Bhim Tal do not really offer much by way of food.
Very pleasant places but a bit dull for the foodie types!

Is this the place where cars do not reach upto the resort but have to be left 2 or 3 kms down the road? From that point is a trek!?

Sorry doc, that was a bit hasty of me.
Just did a wee google and it does seem to be a great place.
However, what I do find amiss, from a crack team that CLAIMS to be superlative, is that they have NO testimonials on their site after 2006!!!
To me that reflects standards that are questionable!

I'm saying all this because they charge PREMIUM rates, and there ought not to be any lapses of this sort on the website! I'd put a question mark there.

Doc try pangot. Read my discription at chaipakoda.in pangot revisited

It is barely 15km from Nanital yet far away from madding crowd. You can also go and visit all the "tals" as day trips.

Go to Shoja, thats the most beautiful hill station i have seen.
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/trave...s-tirthan.html (And quiet flows the Tirthan....)
It will be light on the budget, there are multiple PWD/HPforest rest houses there.(500/night for a nice room with hot water)

From Delhi its a 11 hour drive, so you can either plan to make chd your base or Delhi, depending on your driving appetite. It falls within the 3000kms "budget".

I would quite happily endorse this. If budget permits, stay at the Banjara Retreat.
Or the very budget place with a quaint charm all its own: Shringi Vatika, at Ghiyagi, 3 kms from Shoja.
