I would like to know the distance,route options and road conditions.

From Madras, you can reach Coimbatore via 2 Routes:
Route 1: Madras-Tinivanam-Ulundurpet-Athur-Salem-Bhavani-Avinashi-Coimbatore
Route 2: Madras-Sriperembuur-Kanchi-Vellore-Krishnagiri-Dharmapuri-Toppur-Mettur-Bhavani-Avinashi-Coimbatore

Take the Coimbatore bypass on NH47 to Palakkad.

Go off NH47 into Palakkad town, and go via Olavakot (main Palakkad Jn railway station) to Ottapalam, Shoranur, Pattambi, Perumpalavu and Kunnamkulam to Guruvayoor. Distance from Coimbatore to Guruvayoor is around 150 kms and should take you 3 hours.

Another option is to continue on NH47, bypassing Palakkad to Trissur and from here go through Trissur to Guruvayoor. Distance on this roue is 140 kms. Will take almost same time.
