Last Sunday!!
I travelled from Pune to Mumbai 2 days back.

I am asking if there have been any problems (landslide etc) because of the
incessant rain for the last 2 days. Also if any problems because of water etc.

I am planning to drive from Mysore to Mumbai in the 1st week of September . I hope the roads are good. I am planning to stay overnight in Hubli... is it a good idea or Belgaum is better?

Any other precautions i need to take on this route from Mysore to Mumbai?

Which route are you taking - via Bangalore or via Shimoga? Roads via Bangalore are OK, but here are some minor bad sections near Shimoga. You should easily reach Belgaum - Hotel Sankam Residency is a good place to stay at, just off NH4. To stay in Hubli, you will have to go into town.

or is Dharwad a better place to stay?

NH4 is good, bu you have to come through Bangalore City (unless you take the NICE Road from Bidadi to Nelamangala). The Mysore-K R Pet-Channarayapana-Arsikere-Tarikere-Shimoga-Honnali-Harihar (NH4) route is very picturesque.

Hubli is easier to get in and out.

I think i will take this route as I would be able to take some photos enroute. But i have to get directions at most places.

H V Kumar - Driving Log Books - KUMAR'S DRIVING LOG BOOKS Kerala, Feb 2002

This log book has the route between Bombay and Mysore on the route which you propose to take:

Bombay-Pune-Satara-Kolhapur-Belgaum-Hubli-Harihar-Honnali-Shimoga-Bhadravathi-Tarikere-Arsikere-Channarayapatna-K R Pet- Srirangapatna-Mysore.

You will have to reverse the directions.
