I recently drove to Lepakshi, starting around 5:30am.
There are a few options now for food beyond chikballapura (earlier it was mostly Nandi Upachar and others around Devanahalli and then Big Bay food court at Chikballapura).
When nearing Bagepalli, we saw Komals Grand on the left, then V V Srini on the right and then Samara Veg on the right just before the Bagepalli toll. 6:50am was a bit too early for breakfast so we drove on to Lepakshi and stopped at Samara on the way back around 9:30. Nice ambience and food, enough parking and a good shop selling handicrafts and homemade food products, makes for a good stop.

Another important thing I observed is when I start early morning between 5 and 6 is there is a lot of traffic. I guess everybody is starting early to beat traffic thereby increasing the traffic. Last month I overslept and started at 8.30 am on a Sunday and was dreading the traffic. Surprisingly there was less traffic than the early morning ones except the bikes and autos till shadnagar. But less number of cars. I repeated this for my next two trips where I started at 8 on weekends and it worked well.
P.S : Since I travel to Whitefield via strr and in Hyderabad I stay at gachibowli so I didn't have to worry about city traffic. So this strategy worked well.

Entire Hyderabad bengalore highway is going to be 12 lanes, it's a confirmed news. Plot buyers are carefull not to buy anything within 1 km adjacent to highway boundary on both sides. Most plot developers are not selling plots who are falling in the widening zone. Some honest guys are offering alternate ones. Be careful not to buy anything within 1 km on both sides.

What are the good places for food between Kurnool and Bagapally. I did not find any good place between these two locations during my last 5 trips. The Cube stop near Daduluru has terrible food (KFC is OK). Even their toilets are stinking. During my last trip about 15 days back I noticed that A2B is comming up next to KIA factory. Some decent food in the near future, but their toilet upkeep is not up to the mark.

Kritunga at Kurnool and Pista House at Anantapur are what I have frequented in past 1 yr. I had been to the Cube Stop beyond Anantapur a bunch of times in 2023-24 and never disappointed. Food options were good enough and the washrooms were tip top at any time of day. Can't say how they're doing in the past 1 yr.

Cube Stop after Ananthapur used to be good. During my last two trips I found the food not up to the mark. Even the washrooms used to be well kept, but probably due to low volumes, they are ubable to maintain it.

Where is Kritunga? On the highway or in town.

Right on the highway while entering Kurnool from Anantapur side. Easy to access even if you are coming from Hyderabad side.

There's also Hyderabad Chefs in front it but I was never lucky to get a seat there (long waiting the couple of times I went).

You have Pista House at Kurnool but I haven't tried.
Been to Food Pyramid once and it was a good option as well but I prefer biryani at Kritunga.

And there's a Paakashala at Anantapur which I haven't tried.

All these options are right on the highway.

The speed limit between Kurnool and Hyderabad remains a mystery to me. Got a speeding ticket for driving at 96 on the NH44 near Shadnagar.
I drive anywhere between 100-110 between Bangalore and Kurnool and ensure to keep a speed of under 100 post Kurnool. Don't know if I have to start dropping the speed to 80 post Kurnool going forward.

When did you get this ticket?
Shadnagar bypass used to have 80kmph limit, not all the way upto Kurnool.
And recently didnt see any tickets coming through. Did it have any photo etc.? Was it near the signal lights or beyond ?

They have set limit of 80 at a couple of spots. I got clicked doing 101 at a spot before entering Kurnool (from Bangalore side). Per the image, the location is 15.68302N 77.9702E. I had been maintaining 90-100 throughout until Hyderabad and even on the return leg. And I got this one challan.

On the return leg, after crossing Anantapur city and going a few KM's I spotted an Interceptor neatly parked in one corner of highway. This was right after the road had curved slightly and so no one can spot the car in advance. I was at my usual speed of 100 when I chuckled at the Interceptor but challan here. I guess they're flagging 120+ speeds only.

If you can go a little beyond Bagepally, about 25 kms south, there is a Kritunga inside Big Bay food court. The place is very well maintained and washrooms are airport-grade clean.

Btw, anyone tried the Korean restaurants near Penukonda/ KIA?

I got the ticket on 15th March at 10:34am. They have a picture as an attachment, but not much is clear about the surroundings as more than 80% of the picture is the car itself. The location mentioned in the picture is 17.092106, 78.241707
This feels like a trap, as the speed limits of where the 80, 60, 40 speed limit starts is mentioned clearly but where it ends is not mentioned.

People have been tagging these speed cams on the Map. So the cops are changing their spot.



The last time I got a ticket, it was near Beechupalli. This time it was near Chinna Tekur.

Even post Kurnool I have not seen them on the road side, the police is always standing in the median with a speed gun.

This was between Anantapur and Kia factory, while I was going towards Bangalore. A white Xylo interceptor. I have spotted them on my earlier trips as well but keep forgetting their spot. As I mentioned, they're probably looking for cars traveling over 120 which is good.

My experience with Radar bot is excellent. It's accurate 80% of the time. You get notified live within 1 km of highway drive for speed guns. I got saved many times in Goa and MH.

Drove from Hyderabad to Bangalore on 17th March and Bangalore to Hyderabad on 20th March. Roads are good but for small patches where diversions are there. Beware of speed breakers near junctions about 40kms before and after Anantapur in either directions - especially during night times.

I tried Vivaha Bhojanambu in Anantapur couple of times and it has been good. Toilets are just about average if you go later in the day.
