re: Hyderabad to Bangalore : Route Queries

Folks,

Iam planning to travel from Hyderabad to Bandipur via Mysore. The plan is to start early afternoon on 17th April and reach the forest check post by 4 or 5 AM next day and then wait for an hour or two for the gates to open ( at 6AM) to enter the forest.
Kindly advice on the bypass options to Mysore so that we can avoid entering Bangalore city. Also any general advice & suggestions on good fuel stations enroute is highly appreciated.

cheers,
pdma.

Are you not planning for an overnight stay? I would say start early reach Mysore by day 1 and start early the next day. Would keep rejuvenated for the safari as well.

Route : Hyd-Devanahalli-Doddabaallur-Dobbasput-Guddemaranahalli-Neligere-Pandavpura-Srinrangapatna-Mysore.

Here is the bypass route from NH7 all the way to Mysore:
Route Link

- A -> B -> C will take you from NH7 (Devanahalli) to NH4 (Dobbaspet)
- C -> D : You go below the 4-lane NH4
- D -> E -> F : Will take you from the 4-lane NH4 (Dobbaspet) to 4-lane NH48 (Gudemaranahalli)
- F -> G : 4-Lane NH48. Use this section to have your food breaks. Swathi Delicacy and Adigas are available after Kunigal bypass
- G : Comes immediately after Belur cross toll.
- G (Neligere) -> H (Srirangapatna). You are back on Mysore road with Mysore hardly about 22km from here.

I am planning Hyd-Blr trip on Monday early morning around 4am-with my family. Is it absolutely necessary to possess original RC and Insurance papers ? will Xerox do ?
I have given RC for NOC and its stuck in RTO, is it advisable to carry a print of RTO vehicle registration page ?

You are required to carry the original RC. If you have submitted it to RTO, then RTO must have given you an acknowledgement receipt for your RC. You have to carry that original receipt along with a copy of your RC.

Insurance - these days I think they mostly send you the policy certificate by e-mail (at least that's what Tata AIG does, for my vehicle insurance). So just take the print-out. But if your insurance company has sent you a hard copy of your policy then better to carry it along with you.

re: Hyderabad to Bangalore : Route Queries

Traveled last weekend Hyderabad-Banglore and back.
Excellent surface throughout.
Kurnool bypass still the road works are going on for a kilometre.
Reduced my speed to 80kms from Nandi hills turn near Devanahalli to Hebbal and even on the return police with speed guns were busy challaning the speeding vehicles.
Saw a Paratta restaurant on the Devanahalli bypass which was busy.
A2B after the toll from the airport ramp towards Hebbal

Planning to do Bangalore-Hyderabad on 30th April (Thursday). Will be starting by around 11 AM with family. There is a proposed nationwide transport strike the same day. Wanted inputs on how safe would it be on the highways or alternatively would it be wise to postpone the trip to the next day.

It should be safe. We are driving in the evening. Usually strikes supported by political parties are the ones to watch out for. Get a full tank of fuel the previous night though

re: Hyderabad to Bangalore : Route Queries

I am planning to drive to Bangalore from Hyderabad this Sunday. My destination is an apartment complex in Electronic City. Is there any way I can skip the Bangalore city traffic since I will be entering the city from the north and Electronic City is down south?

Google takes me through the heart of the city. Please let me know if there is a better way.

You can take NH207 from Devanahalli to Sarjapur via Hoskote and then take the SH35 to Attibele.

Here is the route : Route Link

If you enter bangalore during non-peak hours, then its better to take the Outer Ring Road-Silk board route.
Route link - ORR route

I normally avoid night driving. Will be starting in Hyderabad around 8am (8:40am Shamshabad junction ORR). So I should be in Bangalore city limits by 4pm. Which route will be better?

Also, if I reach the city limits by 6pm, which route will make most sense?

6PM on a sunday should be OK. Had it been Saturday, would have suggested the NH207. Sunday should be fine. Drive till Hebbal, take the Outer ring road via KR Puram, Marathahalli and get on to Hosur road at Silk board. You can then take the elevated road on NH7. Just make sure, you plan exit from the elevated road correctly.

How was your trip? Also any pointers on the Bangalore-Hyderabad road? I'm planning to make the trip to Bangalore (from Hyderabad) tomorrow or day after and wondering how the road will be.

Here are few points where you need to be little careful,

1. Before Hebbal flyover, keep left to join the ORR.(No need to take the flyover here).

2. KR Puram, keep left to avoid the hanging bridge. There is a divider before this bridge and if you go on the other side my mistake then it will be difficult to reverse on this location.

2a. You will have to keep left and the road turns right below the hanging bridge, now be on the right lane to continue on the ORR. If you keep left, it will take you to the ITPL main road.

3. After this you will go through multiple fly-overs and about a Km before silk board, you will have to take the service lane at a signal. This service lane will connect you to the Hosur main road.

I have marked these locations here, ORR route

Look out for speed breakers after entering KA, and better to maintain 80Kmph after devanahalli as cops might there catching over-speeding vehicles.

re: Hyderabad to Bangalore : Route Queries

I just finished my Hyd - Blr trip a couple of weeks ago. Must say the roads were awesome. Keep in mind the speed breakers that come up maybe a 100kms from Blr. I entered Blr at around 9:30PM and got stuck on the exit of the expressway for about an hour. I started from Hyd at 2:30PM, stopped four times out of which one was a lunch stop at Kurnool. The only fly ( a very big one) in the ointment was the glare from the the vehicles form the opposite side was unbearable.
But for the journey back, started at 5:30 AM and i was chilling at my favourite lounge in J.Hills in Hyd by 12PM
