The eateries scene is pretty good now compared to what it was about 3-4 years ago.

I have compiled this link with the GMaps Link and the distance from Hyd and Blr to the respective restaurants. It might come in handy for you.

Re: Hyderabad to Bangalore : Route Queries

During my recent drive, I stopped at Masti's bliss on a plate(Ananthapur) for lunch. Good ambience, clean restrooms, quick service and food was Ok.

This is on the left side while coming towards Bangalore.

Re: Hyderabad to Bangalore : Route Queries

Hyderabad police is offering 50% discount on fines in March
If you are part of any of the speed trap fines in past, can help, but the catch seems to be only if the violations are within the commissionarates of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rachakonda.
On the blr-hyd route, you may have fines in Cyberabad limit.
I have one pending from there, planning to utilize the discount

There are plenty of Reliance, Essar pumps on the way. No need of the sarkari pumps at all, even COCO ones.

Re: Hyderabad to Bangalore : Route Queries

Just returned from a trip to Hyderabad. Thanks to all the help and advise from members here and especially ranjitp1 who I was in touch with for additional info.
Started from my place in CV Raman Nagar at 0600 and reached Taj Banjara at 1436 a distance of 565 kms with a driving time of 8 hours. The roads were in great condition except for 4 diversions, 2 before Kurnool and 2 in Kurnool town itself, where flyovers are being built. Getting into HYD was super easy as there was this PVNR flyover which literally took us straight to the hotel.
Almost all the junctions in the three states had rumbling trips before junctions. Most of these I could drive over without slowing down but some had bigger humps in the rumble which would make my car shake a lot. There are a few regular speed breakers too, one especially comes up unexpectedly about 10 kms after Amakathadu toll. I had to brake suddenly, my tyres squealed but ABS did not kick in

After Kurnool, I was wary of the speed guns and interceptors and kept speeds between 80 to 85 (GPS speed 76 to 81). Surprisingly saw many cars also following the same speed as I was doing, apparently the speed guns are famous here. However did not see any interceptors here. Then closer to HYD cars started speeding up again and I followed suit. There was one interceptor 17 kms after Amakathadu Toll plaza on the HYD BLR side of the road and the some chap was waiting at the same place while I was returning.

Return journey: we left Ramoji film city at 0640 and reached home at 1546, distance of 578 kms with 8:33 driving time. Traffic out of Hyd was much more than what I had seen in the afternoon. The bypasses on the Kurnool diversions were significantly worse South bound than they were North bound.

We had packed snacks both ways and stopped under wonderful shaded parking at Hotel Rainbow https://g.page/sngrainbow?share while going. On our return found it difficult to find shade as it was very warm at lunchtime (33 degrees), eventually found a nice shady spot on the other side of the road few kms after the Kia factory.

Lastly few words about HYD, I was amazed with the city, it was clean, good well lit roads, flyovers connecting places, NO garbage, good metro connectivity, IKEA and the wonderful ORR

PS. Didn't stay at Banjara (which we heard not so nice things about) but moved to Taj Krishna which was a much better hotel.

Very resourceful post. Thank you for your efforts, Ranjitp1!

Though, when I checked, some of the eateries marked in the Gsheet are now "permanently closed" on Gmaps

I am planning to drive my family from Bangalore to Secunderabad on 05 Mar.
Would anyone have updated info, or could point me to a thread or blog, for decent stopovers, refreshment-points and/or eateries enroute, that would be good for a family?

This would be super helpful. Thankful in anticipation

Could be the effect of the pandemic, many restaurants shut shop during the last couple of years.

Depends on the time you start from Bangalore.

If you start around 6am, you can stop at Nandi Upachar on the left beyond the BIA (by far the best in terms of quality and ambience and facilities especially when traveling with family).

Further ahead, there is Cube Stop inside a Bharat Petroleum bunk campus but very much avoidable, food is bad!

For lunch you could stop at Food Pyramid, Kurnool, a neat place with sufficient parking.

Thanks for your suggestion, NPV.

I have done a bit of research and compiled a list of possible decent eateries enroute Bangalore~Secunderabad, as per their star ratings, reviews and photo impressions.
This could be useful reference for anyone taking this route going forward.

Here goes..

Driving from Bangalore, Karnataka..
1. Nandi Upachar @ Devanahalli. 39.2 km. 55 mins.
2. Swagath Multicuisine Delicacy Restaurant. 36 km. 33 mins.
3. Hyway Lounge. 137 km. 2 hrs 3 mins.
4. Amogh Family Restaurant. 48 km. 51 mins.
5. Kritunga Restaurant. 94 km. 1 hr 25 mins.
6. Food Pyramid. 88.1 km. 1 hr 26 mins.
7. Dashmesh Punjabi Dhaba. 72.6 km. 1 hr 2 mins.
Reach @Secunderabad, Telangana. 66.8 km. 1 hr 32 mins.
In total: 581 km. In about 9 hr 54 min.

This is an exhaustive list, of course, not that one needs to stop at all of them! The idea is to have enough variety for one to pick from, in times of family necessities

Happy driving!

Re: Hyderabad to Bangalore : Route Queries

Hi All, as part of Bangalore-Delhi drive, I am planning to do bangalore to nagpur via hyderabad on the first day. Reading through the previous comments, it looks like there is a genuine scare of speedbreakers. Driving below 80 for the entire duration might not help me achieve the days target. So any advice on where all to be extra cautious related to speed breakers? Are they generally marked ( either on the road or boards) or completely unmarked ?
Just wondering if there are stretches where we can go fast and stretches where we have to go slow?
Thanks in advance

One-time discount is being offered by TS Police and not specifically Hyd Police >> its high time that they remove the 80kmh speed limit on NH44.

Bangalore to Nagpur should take about 15 hours of driving time (+ breaks). The entire highway is in great condition except 1) construction work on highway some 30 kms before Kurnool, 2) a patch of ~60 kms just after entering Maharashtra after Adilabad where you need to slow down say around 50 kmph.

I found the speed breakers manageable, generally marked. You can maintain a speed of ~100+ for long distances and not necessarily have to drive below 80 for entire stretch.

If you are the only driver, my suggestion would be to start as early as possible from Bangalore.
