Chikmagalur - again !!!

Folks - is Oct 1st week a good time to head to Chikmagalur?
Any inputs?

Most road condition reports (last around July) are decent. How are the roads now, post the rains?

Planning 2 days, 3 nights there and Halebidu/Belur on the way back.

I followed some reports on hotels - the Serai is off limits :( and Taj is filled up. Looks like Tex Woods or Greendale would be likely choices.
Do these places have play areas/pools/etc? Any other suggestions?

I'm travelling with a 4 year old and a pregnant wife, so would like some contextual advice. ;-) (meaning Kemmanagundi is off limits this time).

Thanks

Ravi

Serai is worth every penny you spend , agreed its a little on the expensive side but since you are going with a 4 year old and a pregnant wife you won't regret spending so much coz you have a all the privacy you want including a private pool in every cottage.

You're getting pretty close to convincing me, buddy .
The only trouble is its not a "little" on the expensive side. Its wayyyyyyyyyyy expensive...

Let me call them anyways.

Btw, can you comment on recent road condition? Also do they have activities (trekking types, etc) they organize @ Serai? As for the pool, does it come with the base acco? (9000 per day)?

Ravi

i tried to make a reservation @ Serai from Bangalore. maaan!! unbelievably frustrating. they hired monumentally brain dead bimbos and put them up in their newly built swanky office (coffee day square in front of UB City). have to look for some other place!
