Already excited about the 2nd trip that I'm planning with my family early next year. End of Feb / Beginning of March. Yes ! sometime away but the excitement cannot be described.

Here's a tentative agenda and would appreciate comments and suggestions from others. Anyone else wishing to join can also plan.

Bascially the trip will be done Ex-Bombay with my family in my Fusion and my friend and his wife in his Swift.

The Plan -

Day 1 - Leave Thane around 3 AM and reach Jaipur by 9
PM . Check in and dinner and sleep off.

Day 2 - Half day Jaipur sight seeing - lunch and leave for Agra, reach Agra by dinner time and sleep off.

Day 3 - Taj sight seeing and leave for Amritsar, reach by dinner time and sleep off.

Day 4 - Whole day in Amritsar and sleep off

Day 5 - Drive upto Jammu / Katra and rest - begin the climb at night after dinner as I always do and be back around 9 - 10 AM on Day 6

Day 6 - Rest, Lunch and drive on to ...

I would have loved to go to Dalhousie but have been there. Thinking of other options like Nainital, Mussorie etc. Basically anyplace which we can reach the same night and then spend a couple of days before driving back to Bombay.

So the place you suggest will be Day 7 and Day 8 and then start on Day 9 and again need advice on where to halt on the night of Day 9. Possible half day sight seeing options on day 10 (not mandatory) and return back to Bombay.

Thanks

Nice itinery. I however feel it is not comfortable / feasible to do Agra - Amritsar in one day after sight seeing the Taj.

Assuming you leave from Agra at 8 Am after viewing the Taj, you will reach Delhi not before 12PM and it will take you a minimum of 2 hours before you reach GT road. Then on it is Peak Traffic during day time which will get you in Amritsar not before 10 - 11 PM. This include very Hectic traffic and no stops.

I plan to do Agra - Delhi - Amritsar after a week. From there on I would love to go to a hll station. Let's see, there are plenty of options -

Mc Leod ganj, Patnitop if you are visiting Katra / Vaishno Devi.

Do remember to give me a PM / Buzz so that we can meet in Agra :)
