Hyderabad to Nagpur : Route Queries

Hi Guys
Same query as Neil. I am also planning to drive to Bhilai, this weekend. I have done Bangalore - Bhilai around a year and half back. The MH-AP border roads were not that great.Looks like it has improved a lot ( from the previous posts). Current update will help. Planning to start from Bangalore early morning, night halt in Nirmal, next day morning again start for Nagpur->Durg.

Please refer to my update here. This is as recent as early Jan. I do not expect much to change since then.

Yogesh - With an early start from Bangalore (say around 4 AM), you can easily do Nagpur by evening and halt there for the night, instead of Nirmal. With sedate driving and minimal breaks, should not take you more than 13-14 hours for Bangalore-Nagpur.

Bangalore - Nagpur is easily doable in one day, especially now. I always do Bangalore - Pench on the first day when going to the forests of MP or further up North. Not too fond of staying at towns such as Nirmal or Nizamabad or Adilabad.

I did this route twice recently on 5th Mar and 10th Mar 2016.

Hyderabad to Bhilai is extremely good road conditions and can be done in around 9 hrs easily.

Except for Adilabad-Hinganghat stretch, the rest is all four lane till Bhilai . The Adilabad-Hinganghat stretch also is much improved as mentioned in my post dated 11th Mar with a cruising speed of 80kmph possible. The entire distance you are asking about is a toll road now.

While coming from Hyderabad, keep a lookout for using the bypass road at Nagpur, so that you skirt the city and hit the road towards Bhandara- Rajnandgaon. It is smooth sailing then.

Thank You All. The issue is this time around I am traveling with my family. Thats why wanted to take a break. But i agree with you all, it makes sense to start very early from Bangalore and take a break in NGP. Any good hotels around Buti Bori, I dont want to enter NGP.

How are the roads until Nagpur? How much time it takes to do this stretch?

I'm actually planning to drive to Jabalpur. Has anyone done this route? Is it doable in 12 hours?

Did Bangalore->Hyd->Nagpur->Durg. Started from Bangalore @5.15AM, crossed Hyderabad @1PM, reached outskirts of Nagpur ( Buti Bori) @7:30 PM. Stayed in a Hotel in ButiBori, started at 9:30 AM ( next day) to reach Durg by 1Pm.
Road conditions is good all the way along. Telangana-MH border, work in progress, in some parts, but roads are fine ( 2 way at many places), little bumpy but 60Kmph is easily doable. From Bangalore to Nagpur, we took breaks at 2 places, 30 min each apprx.

The Bangalore -Nagpur drive of yours looks impressive. Which were your en route two stops?

And did you stay at Hotel Mayur in Buti Bori? There are two more hotels adjacent.

Stopped at Blue Moon restaurant ( after Anantpur) and one after Medchal( dont remember the name). I stayed in Hotel Regency(booked from Bangalore), but I saw Hotel Mayur. From outside Hotel Mayur looked better.

I had been to Mayur twice. Their food is also good. That is why I asked you.

There are actually three to four hotels around, I remember.

Hardly any places on the highway to stop for food and loo.,Malgudi on your right before Kammareddy and Haritha to your left approximately 10mins from Malgudis.

Hi, the only route by which we have driven from Nagpur to Bhopal many times is the one that takes you through Betul, Itarsi and Hoshangabad. From Nagpur to Betul the road is outstanding but from near Itarsi until you cross Hoshangabad the roads were in not so good condition. When we drove last year, they were laying the roads near Itarsi but I am not sure whether they have completed. Hope someone can update this section.
