Bangalore to Mettupalayam - Best motorable roads

I would be travelling to mettupalayam in Decemeber. Coul you guys tell me the best roads to go. please let me know the conditions of the roads.

Was planning to take mysore road - nanjangund - sathyamangalam - annur -mettupalayam.

I guess nanjangund to chamarajnagar is very bad.

Any alternatives, please let me know
