I think the Hyderabad - Nizamabad - Nanded - Jalna route should be good. Experts' advice needed, I need to go to Jalna this month.

Hello friends,

Recently did Hyderabad - Jalna for a wedding I had to attend. Followed advice of Ranjit bhai and took the NH44 till Nirmal and took left towards Nanded. (I actually missed the left towards Nizamabad - Basar)

Roads are suberb on the NH44. They are decent till Bhainsa also. Nanded onwards they are a combination of good and bad, but you can still maintain speeds of 80+.

While coming back I took the Basar - Nizamabad route and was stopped on the way by the cops just outside Nizamabad. I small argument later I was on my way home. Pretty straightforward journey but takes around 10-11 hours with stoppages because of the road conditions.

Also learned in Jalna that Aurangabad - Beed - Solapur 4 laning is in progress. So, anybody going to Aurangabad area after about 6 months or so can take the newly laid roads of Hyderabad - Solapur - Beed - Aurangabad. I'm certainly looking forward to that drive.

It is certainly underway. According to a BHPian Hyderabad-Solapur section is going at a very fast pace and should be done in about 6 months from now. There already are stretches where you can hit a 100-120kmph but then there are diversions as many sections are incomplete.

According to local sources in Jalna, the Aurangabad-Solapur section has also started but no concrete information on its progress. The guy I spoke to said that this should be completed by early 2017.

In continuation of a query posted in Bangalore - Aurangabad thread (Link)

Plan is to drive from Bangalore - Aurangabad - Ellora - Ajantha - Lonar - Hyderabad.

Query

- Will be staying at MTDC Ajantha and visiting the caves.
- Once sightseeing is done at Ajantha, evening start to Lonar & stay for the night at MTDC.
- Next morning, visit the lake and start towards -

Option a) Hyderabad- In this case, which is the best route to take.
Lonar- Nanded - Nizamabad - Hyderabad or Lonar -Risod- Washim - join NH 7 & head south to Hyderabad?

Option b) Lonar -Risod- Washim - Join NH7 and head to MTDC Tadoba. Stay there for couple of days and head back.


Can you let know hows the road condition till joining NH7 / Hyderabad.

Hey guys,

I'm traveling to Aurangabad from Hyderabad this month.

Thinking of doing Hyderabad-humnabad-naldurg-osmanabad-beed-aurangabad.

Any updates on roads etc would be appreciated.

I've done nizamabad - bhainsa route previously, but MH side of the border is very bad in this.

I'm starting my trip today. I'm taking the Solapur route, although I intend to miss Solapur and take right from naldurg.

Yes, I'm currently on my way back. Taking the jalna - parbhani - nanded - nizamabad route as osmanabad - Aurangabad is being developed by IRB infra and will take another 2 years.

Road from naldurg - osmanabad is peanut butter but bad from thereon northbound.

Hyd-humnabad is newly laid and great.

Wouldn't take that (for Aurangabad) till it's complete.

I'd rather take the train.

Reviving a thread that has not seen much action lately!

I am planning a Bangalore - Hyderabad - Aurnangabad - Pune - Bangalore trip late Jan or early Feb. What is the best route, i.e. smooth roads, to take from Hyderabad - Aurangabad? Please help me also with pointers to good restaurants on the route for food and rest room breaks.

Inspite of road works on Bangalore - Pune road, I guess the best route will be via Pune.

Thanks. I just saw your update on the Bangalore - Aurangabad thread too. I need to make visits to Hyderabad and Pune around that time and was looking to combine all into one long-ish trip. If Hyderabad - Aurangabad is not recommended, then will rework my plans.

Suhas did the trip 2 years back and he also combined with Nanded, things have changed quite a bit since then. Hyderabad-Aurangabad via Naldurg, Tuljapur, Beed is a beautiful route with the following things to take care:

1. Handful of diversions on Omerga-Naldurg sector. Check Hyderabad-Pune thread closer to your travel date, as there improvements since my October and year trip itself.

2. 3-4 km of bad roads in around Naldurg town. This is split between the road leading in from Omerga and the initial section towards Tuljapur.

3. Naldurg-Tuljapur is good 2-lane.

4. Tuljapur-Aurangabad is an absolute beauty, with 2-3 diversions to take care. On the northbound side there is a ghat section where 4-laning is in progress (as of 3-Jan). There are 4 speed breakers in short distance enough to warn about it, since its on the downhill section. On the southbound not a big deal since you'll notice on the uphill climb.

Let me know if you have any questions. For Bangalore-Aurangabad will find time to update in that thread.
