At Sholapur you would be better off looking for a hotel on the bypass (Highway itself). Sai international is one option at a place called Yelur.
I think there is also a Hotel Mahendra not too far away from Sai international.
Please look at the Bangalore-Pune/Mumbai route and eateries thread where this was discussed recently.

Edit:just realised I responded to a month old post!

NPV,are you sure you are not confusing Solapur with Kolhapur?Sai Intl(30kms after Kolhapur in Pune direction) and Mahendra Executive(at Satara) are on NH4,this query is about NH9 SolapuR?,unless I am mistaken

Its quite a good place, and for Ganpatipule it definitely is very good!I havent stayed there, but heard about it from people who did go there. The place has had a change of management from Best Western group to the Apodis collection(the same as the Mango chain of hotels).

Yes, my original query was about Solapur and City Park, in particular.

Ranjit thanks for pointing that out, I confused Solapur with Kolhapur

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Looking for good, clean hotels in/near Magarpatta City, Pune. Found Cocoon Hotel in Magarpatta City - any idea if it's good. Or any other recommendation also OK - upto 3000 Rs per night would be good.

Guys any experiences with Cidade De Goa?

Am contemplating staying with them on an oncoming visit to Goa.

Any other recommendations in South Goa / Panjim for a 4 day stay.

Re: B&B in Kanchi, Tamilnadu?

Guys!

Please suggest me some decent budget accommodation in Kanchi, TN for a night.

We would be there for saree shopping mid of this week, and would like some decent place to crash in for a night. Nothing fancy, as we just need it for night and bath.

Would recommend MM Hotels which is right next to Saravana Bhavan - http://www.mmhotels.com/

GRT (now Regency Kanchipuram by GRT) is by far the best one there, though I'm not sure if the tariffs will be in the budget range you have in mind. Do look up TripAdvisor too for reviews of other hotels.

Also, there was a recent discussion about route and shopping at Kanchipuram that may be of interest to you, read up posts on this page and previous page as well - here

Hi,

Can someone recommend me some homestays in Shimoga (3 days) and Chikmagalur (2 days). Planning for a summer vacation trip and since a 1yr toddler will be with us homestays will help my SIL prepare homemade food for him.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Hi All

I am planning to travel with my family from Mumbai to Kerala in the middle of next month. I plan to split the journey over 3 days with the first day halt at Hubli (i have shortlisted Kamat YatriNivas, any feedback on this) which is around 9 hours drive. For the second day i would like to go beyond bangalore maybe reach till Salem or maybe an hour or so before that. Can anyone suggest a good decent hotel where families can stay preferably close to the highway itself in this stretch. Budget of around 2.5k

BR// Mohan

Around Salem, on the highway (NH 47), some options are:
1. KPN Plaza/KPN Inn on left side about ~5Km after you turn off from NH 7 at Salem and enter NH 47. This is in the same campus as a Bharat Petroleum bunk and also has an A2B restaurant, Polar Bear ice-cream outlet.

2. About 15-20Km after KPN Plaza, just before the Vaigundam Toll Plaza, on left side you will find the NHAI Amenity plaza complex that has a Sree Saravana Bhavan hotel, they also have a Travelers Inn.

3. Another 5-10Km or so ahead of Vaigundam, near the Reddipalayam junction on right side (needs a U-turn) there is a Saravana Bhavan Classic hotel and above that there is Sri Saai Stay Inn (have stayed here once and it was decent).

I remember posting in detail about these places elsewhere earlier, will try to find that post.

Look at these earlier posts:
