Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Hi team,
Looking to stay at Mysore this coming Wednesday and Thursday. Please recommend good comfortable hotels to stay in budget 1k-1.5k range per day for a family of 4(2adults+2children). Would be visiting palace, zoo, tunnel aquarium, and any recommendations if you guys can give.
Thanks very much in advance.

Trip To Wayanad and Ooty

After a long break (the Covid-19 outbreak and its spread all over spoiled our family annual tour for almost 33 months), we are again planning for our next trip to Wayanad (Kerala) and Ooty (Tamil Nadu).

We will have 6 families (13 members - no children) and arranging an A/C traveller on this occasion. Our plan is to go direct to Ooty and then return via Wayanad. We wanted to avoid long drives this time instead reduce the distance and stay and enjoy more hence limited to only 2 destinations.

Any one recently travelled and stayed in Wayanad and Ooty or anyone staying or working in these destinations, please recommend some good hotels for our stay both at Wayand and Ooty. We don't want 5 star accommodation, but decent rooms and good services. Believe season started in Ooty hence may not require A/C rooms?

Pleased to hear your valuable suggestions/recommendations.

TAG Hotel Neelambur and The Arcadia are the 2 I have experienced. TAG is very very compact both rooms and parking.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

I am planning a trip to Udaipur and Kumbhalgarh in December. Looking for a family friendly (3+ star) accommodation in Udaipur close to tourist attractions and also near Kumbhalgarh fort area. If any leads, please do share.

Thanks!
Finally decided to stay in the city centre and got a good deal at Park Elanza. Parking is at an open ground adjacent to the property.

Visited Coimbatore after couple of years and couldn't recognise the Gandhipuram area after the flyovers have come up!

Thanks very much for your reply, but it came a couple of days late. We have left our place on 12th October early hours as planned and reached Ooty at 4Pm.

On reaching there, we straight away checked with a Hotel called Glanton Manor on Coonoor Road and negotiated the rate from 2500 down to Rs.1600 per room and stayed there for 2 nights. Very decent hotel with ample parking, etc. But their restaurant is very expensive.

In Wayanad, we stayed at Hotel Indraprasta (Sultan Bathery) for one night and in 'Hotel Sahara Inn' Vythiri) for 2nd night and finally Theertham guest house in Thirunelli.

After 5 nights stay, we all back home yesterday evening.

Bhimgad Adventure Camp ( JLR )

Hi - I was looking for a first person account / experience of any BHPian's stay at the Bhimgad Adventure Camp off Khanapur. Is it worth the travel from Bangalore and any chance of any wildlife / birding opportunities around?

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Does anyone have the contacts for the PWD Guesthouse at Kodachadri? None of the numbers floating around in the internet seem to work presently.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Hi guys,

Any suggestions on a good hotel for stay at Solapur. This is for my parents for 3 nights. Good food and clean rooms is priority. Budget is not an issue.

You can try Srikamal International assuming they are not going to drive.

Generally Solapur has poverty spec parking lots.
