A thread on Accommodation & Rates

I am starting this thread for the Following purpose;-
1. Please can we build up a list of Accommodation available in different places where we normally visit. So the we can make use of those place. A small review will be further a good Idea. Contact No.
2. Rates. The most important thing. I believe that the rate should be reasonable to stay in different accommodation available with kind of facility available. Some time I find that the rates are too high as it supposed to be.

At present scenario when I tried to search different loaction i found that the terrif are really expensive. I dont understant why they are charging so much too. 2000 Rs/- per person/ Night is the avg. Is not it too much where there is so much of slump in the market. Many times I am postponding/ Canceled my trip plan due the high rates :(

Sowmya if you look around you will find threads discussing various places of stay in almost every other tourist destination in the south.

AFAIK almost every single tourist destination has been discussed here with hotels. You might want to simply run a search with your destination and you will be surprised with the results. I just did that before my chikmagalur trip and as ever wasn't let down.

Might be a useful thread. Mostly any search results will lead to travel agents portal and not to the hotel websites directly. A consolidated thread which has the following details will be helpful

Example

PLACE: Ooty
Hotel: Hotel Ooty Palace
Contact numbers - 0439-232392
Rates: Rs.1200-1800
Location: 3-4 kms from the Ooty city
Review: Food average, excellent service, huge garden

As Riju pointed out Iam able to pick the hotel names here and do a google search to find out the numbers. A mini (2-3 lines) review would make sense to this thread.

It's no use posting up websites. A simple google search will get that. What must be posted are places that people have stayed in and recommend. Also, people should try to avoid posting things like, nice thread, way to go!, etc. this will only make the thread long and tedious to search.
