Bombay - Pondicherry - Kerala - Mumbai

I'm planning on a bike trip in Jan and the planned (theoritical) itinerary is as follows:

19-Jan Mon - Bombay to Chittradurg
20-Jan Tue - Chittradurg to Pondi
21-Jan Wed - In Pondi
22-Jan Thu - Pondi to Quilon (Kerala)
23-Jan Fri - In Kerala
24-Jan Sat - In Kerala
25-Jan Sun - In Kerala
26-Jan Mon - Kerala to Mangalore
27-Jan Tue - Mangalore to Goa
28-Jan Wed - In Goa
29-Jan Thu - Goa to Bombay

Need the following advice:
Is Bombay to Chittradurg feasible in one day of about 12 hours of riding?

Road and traffic conditions on the above stretches.

Thank you for your advice in advance.

Cheers.

Rajesh

I suggest you start looking at the Bangalore - Mumbai thread. A few of them exist.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/route-...adtrip-10.html

This thread has almost the latest info.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/route-...re-mumbai.html

This is another relevant thread for you.

Mumbai to Chitradurga is around 800 kms. There are multiple not so great sections. Check out the above threads. If you start early you should be able to make it. It largely depends on your driving skills. :-)

Chitradurga to Bangalore and then on to Pondicherri. You need to take the route via Thiruvanammalai. Pondi is about 300 kms from Bangalore.

Roads in TN are either very good or are being converted into 4 lane. So take you choice of roads carefully.

Kerala - Mangalore - Goa road is also not so great in certain sections. Watch out for mad driving in Kerala. Avoid night driving if possible.

Hope this helps.

Rajesh
I did Belgaum Chitrdurg on the 7th of December. I started at 601AM and was in Chitradurg at 11.11AM. The running time was 4.20 minutes and the rest was stoppages for petrol and breakfast (outside Ranebennur and in Ranebennur). The distance was 312kms on my odometer. Raods are great.
