Need help for trip to Koynanagar from Thane

Hi,

As a part of my official work, I have to visit a party at Koyananagar- (in Satara District). I stay at Thane. Its one day affair only so don't wish to go by own vehicle. Please advice:

1) the nearest route: via Chiplun Or via Pune-Umbraj. Great help if distances are also mentioned.

2) Which mode of transport is convenient for a single person:hired taxi, bus or train+bus?
