Help regarding Bus services from Cochin Airport

One of my relatives has to visit Thrissur after reaching Cochin Airport, Nedumbassery
from Mumbai. As he is travelling light, needed help regarding bus services from the Airport to either nearest Rail Head (Angamaly) or direct to TCR. Depending on availability after 6 P.M. air bookings to be made.

Help sought from fellow bhpians in the area.

AFAIK, Prepaid Taxi is the only option.

Seen many KSRTC Buses passing through the airport terminus but don't know the exact timing, also there are Autorishaws/prepaid taxis available from the terminus, then you can catch a bus from Athani Junction, buses pass through here between every 5 minutes or so.

But like steersaid , prepaid Taxi is the easiest wayout.

I know this is an old thread but would like to update with some new developments.

1 There is a Kerala SRTC Volvo with a roughly hourly frquency (sometimes half hourly) which goes to Fort Kochi via Aluva, Edapally then Vytilla, then the Thevara byepass and via Thoppumpady. This doesnt touch either the Ernakulam town or go into Alwaye town but this is not much of an issue as Autos are easily available at Alwaye bepass, Edapally and Vytilla.

2 A few ordinary KSRTC buses run to Angamalay/Chalakudy and some south to Alwaye and places like Vaikom. These schedules are erratic. Th first one leaves Alwaye approxmiately at 0530 from Alwaye bus station currently. Soe of these are services terminating at the airport some pass by just outside the airport entrance.

3 A few prviate buses also passess the airport which originate form Alwaye.

4 Most important - about a month back finally the foundation stone for a proposed Airport rail station (it is one of the great mysteries why this was not done as soon as the airport opened up) was inaugarated. Dont know when it is going to be commissioned but it shouldnt take too long as there is no need for an additional rail link - only station infrastructure is involved. The mainline Ernakulam Trichur line runs jut outside the periphery. Now this will improve things a lot esp for late night arrivals. Again depends on Indian railways - if they only allow passenger traisn to stop then it is of no use. Dont expect too many express train stops immediately though.
