Is the Ujjain-Garoth section operational entirely? Did you face any challenges? Planning to travel from Ujjain to Garoth but heard that its not open officially yet.

Hey guys, I am leaving for NCR this week. Looking at the recent updates and development on NE-4, what should be the best option?
Can someone please point me, where all do I need to exit NE-4 if I am going via Godhra? I understand NE-4 is not completely open between Thandla and Delhi. Also, any recommendations for stay at Ratlam?

My backup plan is to take NE-4 from Baruch and target Nathdwara on Day-1 if I make good time towards the start of the day. On Day-2 take Nathdwara-NH52-Tonk-NH123-NE4, since I have been on this route uncountable times.

Hi, I have recently travelled through NE4 from Thandla, once you enter NE4 from Thandla you will have to exit from Chechat near Shivpuri it's almost 250kms of smooth road.

If you want to enter NE4 from Thandla and you are coming from Mumbai it is better if you travel entirely on NH48 till Vadodara and then take a turn on State Highway Halol-Godhra road and continue towards Dahod to Thandla.

No point in taking NE4 from Bharuch and than coming back on NH48 from Vadodara as you won't be saving any time due to traffic both at Bharuch and Vadodara so better stay on NH48 itself till Vadodara.

Left Mumbai yesterday at 5:15am from Borivali, drove non-stop till Baruch McDonalds. Skipped taking NE4 as I was targeting Ratlam halt for the night. However Ratlam ETA being 4pm, I still had some daylight left. I wanted to drive till Kota but not having traveled on the Thandla-Chechat stretch, it was stepping into the unknown.

Proceeded towards Ahmedabad and crossed ADI to join NH48 towards Udaipur. I reached Nathdwara by 6pm, I wasn’t feeling tired so drove further into the dark. Reached Ramada Ajmer by 930pm and called it a day.

Today morning, left hotel at 730am and I was in Gurgaon by 1230pm. All u-turns on NH48 to join Jaipur Bypass were closed due to the recent accident. Had to navigate thru Jaipur city to join NE4. Ajmer-Jaipur took 1 hr 15 mins

Overall a good and satisfactory drive. My first solo between Mumbai and Delhi. clap:

Hi,

I am moving / transferring from Gurgaon to Mumbai. I do not want to hand over my car to packers and movers for the movement. My past experiences of moves have never been good even with some of the better packers and movers. Hence am planning to drive down. Ideally want to do this in 2 days or earlier. Starting early Saturday morning and aiming to reach by Sunday afternoon to Bandra.
I am a sedate driver and rarely cross 120 km/h and my steed is the Verna Turbo DCT ( which is capable of much more but honestly I do not trust road conditions or drivers). I also aim to take a one night rest on Saturday evening.

If this sort of trip has already been covered in the above thread, then do point me in the right direction.

In October 2023, I stayed at Om Residency in Thandla. It was a decent hotel cum restaurant, a good option for those travelling on the DME and looking to stay overnight around Thandla. Close to the DME exit. A good alternative when considering going all the way to Ratlam only to stay overnight.

Hey, can you share any latest route guidance on this stretch including the drive time without breaks? I am planning go to Nathdwara for a religious trip from GGN so checking the current feasibility.

Gurgaon-DME-NH23-NH52-Deoli-Jahazpur-Shapura-NH48-Rajasmand-Nathdwara.

Or if you leave really early: Gurgaon-DME-Dausa-Jaipur Ring Road-Kishangarh-Bhilwara-Rajasamand-Nathdwara.

If you take route-2, you can stop for brunch near Kishangarh at Burger King/Starbucks/CCD. Also this route is entire 6/4 laned. Timing is the key because crossing Dausa can get tricky if you leave late. Do not take this route during return journey, there is no entry to Jaipur Ring Road from NH48 while coming from Ajmer side. You will be forced to enter Jaipur, then Dausa to enter DME.

Route-1 is 2-laned from Deoli till you join NH48 near Bhilwara. There is a toll in-between where only cash is accepted. However this route is still faster due to fantastic NH52 and you are on DME till NH23. This route is devoid of good eating options though. Check google ETAs before you leave.

Happy journey.
