Just came back from kerala

I just came back from a kerala trip today evening.

Onward: Hosur-Thoppur-Mettur-Perundurai-Kangayam-Udumalpettai-Munnar route.
Started at 5:00am and reached Munnar at 4:00pm.
Total Distance: 465Km
Highlights:
1. Got a flat tyre just before Munnar town - tube got burnt - tyre also gone - reason, I pulled the car for almost 5Kms wthout noticing it.
2. Front lower arm bent - reason, went over a good hump without noticing it.

Till udumalpettai - roads are good. After that, speed is a problem.

Return: Munnar-Pooppara-Bodi-Theni-Sembatty-Odachanthram-Perundurai-Mettur-Thoppur-Bangalore.
Started at 5:00am and reached home in Bangalore at 5:45pm

Some 10km streatch between Sembatty and Odachanthram is really really bad . Work is going on there. Hopefully, it will be done in 6 months.
Total Distance: 552Km

Bijuks, I too am planning to go to Munnar in about a month's time.

Would appreciate if you could provide some details like

1. Which vehicle you were driving? Sedate drive? Aggressive drive? Perhaps, the mileage would be a good pointer
2. What are the bad road stretches with distance?

thanks in advance

WagonR - went at a decent speed and took lot of breaks (had a 3 yr old in the car who wanted many breaks in between). For the entire travel, got around 17Kmpl mileage.

The road condition was good throughout. There are lots of humps between Mettur and Bhavani - but with small warning humps.

Then, After Udumalpettai, the road in the Chinnar forest area is very narrow. That is around 25Kms.

Otherwise, good drive.
