Hi guys,

I am planning to drive to Wayanad tomorrow and be there till sunday.
I decided very late and now all resorts and homestays are full

Can you guys please help me and let me know if I can take a chance and just go there and search for a place?
In case you guys know any place where I can get accomodation please let me know.

It very difficult to get homestays at last minute. Especially when it is long weekends. But I think you can try the hotels on Kalpetta. Nearest town which has good number of hotel.

I think Kalpetta is the better option for staying. I think all the Hill Station are Booked. When I tried 2 weeks back, I too did not got any accommodation. At last we drove a destinationless holiday
Any how try at the last moment. there might be also a very good chance canceling the Booking. Many a time this hotel people try to create un-necessary demand in the week end same as our Bangalore real estate.

Thanks guys! Also could you please let me know which route is better in terms of road condition and more picturesque:
1)Najangud - Gundlapet route or
2)Nagarhole - Kutta route?

Which route will take me to Kalapetta sooner? Or can I take one route while going and the other while coming back?

I suggest while going take via mysore - nanjanagudu and while returning via kutta - nagrhole(before 6pm you need to cross that).

try the edakkal hermitage if you are going with your wife/ the other someone, with friends then go to the other places

If they want absolute seclusion from outside world, look no further than Fringe Ford.
Other good suggestions would be Blue Ginger, Vythiri Resort & Banasura. But summer is not the right time to visit Wayanad

Though Ooty and Kodai will be crowded in summer, there are places around Ooty/Kodai that can suit your requirements. Have no personal experience, but there are plenty pointers in our travelogue section and you may also check travelpod or indiamike for more options
