bangalore managalore road conditions

hello all,

i'm planning to visit kollur enroute mangalore and manipal this weekend. whats the status on shiradi ghat section. Has it been opened for traffic after repairs? Should i take the chikmagalur-kalasa route or the mysore-madikeri- mlore route.. which would be better
