Team-BHP - Coimbatore Palakkad NH Byepass (L&T)

@Mods, please move this to appropriate section if this is not the right one. The closest I can think of Street Experiences. but most of the long distance travellers may be visiting this forum. Hence I chose to post it here

I have been noticing this in my last few visits to Kerala. The Toll management by L&T in the Coimbatore Palakkad byepass has been pathetic.:Frustrati The traffic pile ups and crawls have become a thing of past in our highways as most of them have been four laned and accidents are less. But, once we reach this toll booth we have been made to wait behind a rank of trucks to pay up and use this road. Though there are two toll booths( each way), in last one year I have not seen them opening both. This, irrespective of the fact that they have increased the toll amount to Rs 31 from Rs 28:Shockked:. I have had to wait from 5 minutes to 10 minutes in their toll booths ( at various times of the day ). This is not easy to digest, provided the fact that we reach there without any hindrances.

I visited the website http://www.nhai.or and has put in a complaint in this regard. If fellow BHPians also feel this is a pain, please follow the suit. Let us do our bit to have these folks manage the traffic and toll plaza better.

For the past few years I've seen only one of the 2 toll-booths open and functioning for each way. Even though I've never had to wait there for a long time, there usually is 2-3 vehicles ahead of me for paying the toll every time. I too am wondering why they have hiked the toll by Rs3/-, may be the maintanence charges have gone up.

What I hate the most is that you need to slow down at each booth on the way and show the toll slip. I guess there is no work around for that.
