I am looking for a nice clean safe hotel with car parking for around 600rs/night.
I went to the JK tourism website which classifies hotels according to grades, but unfortunately there are not too many detailed reviews for the same.

Post October, when the passes close or are not motorable, you might get at that rate....:)

Khayul Hotel, off old Leh road. It has parking for 2+ trucks. dbl room was 350 in may07. Nice garden and restaurant there.

Since we will be spending close to 5-6 nights in leh it will help the budget a lot!

I inquired about stay at the Tourist Information center at Leh and they gave me a map and also told about private guest house starting from Rs400 with parking facility, you may want to look at it, the tourist information center is very near to the main square if you enter Leh from Manali side, else on other side of the road if from Srinagar side.

if it is not for family you can check Hotel Choskar. very economic, we all prefer to stay there.

I am actually looking for family hotels, so no go!
