Vacation in September

Hello,

I am planning for a family vacation in Last week of September (19th to 28th September). Please suggest some good vacation places.

Its been two years since I have taken a break from work, though have been traveling officially. Looking for place /s to relax and beat the stress hell out of us (wife works as well) and spend quality time with little honey.

Mode of Travel will be my DZire VDI
People Accompanying: Wife and my sweet little honey. Might be an addition of 2-3 family members more.
Preferences: Hill stations, Temple places.
NO NO's: No hiking, No trekking, No adventure (other than driving)

PS: I would not want to cover the same places on return, nor do i want to drive back on the same road .

Any other details you may want to help me decide on places, please ask.

How about a monsoon-ayurvedic-pilgrimage trip to Kerala? Driveable from Bangalore as well.

I would suggest Kerala to be an ideal place for vacation and drive.
Lots of places..but Munnar takes the cake.

Try something like

1. Bangalore - Pollachi - Valparai (forest drive) - Athirapally (water falls) - Thrissur (temples)- Guruvayur (temple) - Sultan Bathery (hill station)- Gundlupet (forest drive) - Mysore - Bangalore

Lots of options for you:

1. Beaches: Goa (you will not find a better stress buster, trust you me). Include Jog Falls day trip. Or Pondicherry (include Mamallapuram with the trip and Chennai if you want)
2. Hill Stations: The usual. Ooty, Kodai and Munnar. Am sure you can fit in two at least. I suggest munnar and kodai. You can also include Thekkady/ Periyar if you want.
3. Backwaters: Kerala. Will leave the experts to give gyaan on this.

I have no idea about temples. To relax, best place IMO, would be Goa. Do some little sightseeing, and just kick back and relax by the sea. Wow, maybe I need to get some leaves.....

Lovely circuit.
Alternatively, can curl around and visit Munnar-Thekkady-Kodaikanal on return journey instead of Wayanadu. Kerala/TN have lots of temples all over the place, so you are always pampered for choice.

As a place for a vacation, it is really hard to beat Goa ! You can drive down via Hubli and return via the coast - Karwar, Gokarna and if possible even Murudeshwar.

hey,

my wife is from Hubli part, hence covered major places out there.

I am from shimoga and have been places around there.

I have covered major places in Karnataka, barring a few places like Dharmastala, Subramanya, Belur and Halebedu.

As of other places, we have been to Bandipur, Nagarahole, Ooty, Kodai.

I am more keen on exploring places other than these. I have not been to any part of Kerala

Munnar it is! You can combine Cochin as well to the itinerary.

Another suggestion would be Anaimudi/Anamalai hills.

How about Cochin, Munnar and then Wayanad on the way back. Went to Munnar last year, awesome place. I have always heard good feedback about Munnar from others as well.
