Yes, the Ring Road is quite circuitous and the road through teh city is also clear & uncluttered.

Planning to travel from Hyderabad to Bhopal via Nagpur on 5-May. Have read some not so encouraging state of roads bewteen Nagpur to Bhopal (Via Itarsi-Betul). Would help if someone can update on the current state.

Update for Hyderabad - Delhi through Bhopal Route

100+ Kms to Nagpur - roads are bad - Dont know when they will finish the job.

Nagpur to Betul : This distance of about 170 odd kms - most places have road construction on and expect diversions all the way through especially severe 100 Km before Betul. But you can maintain good speeds on this.

Bhopal - Biaora : 100+ Km with less traffic compared to rest of the route so ideal for speeding up.

Biaora onwards till Gwalior - expect a lot of truck traffic. Roads are fine, but single laned.

Gwalior - Agra - toll road is great for speed with 4 lanes. Dholpur - the road is not yet completed and the old bridge also shakes when you cross it, so takes time to get through.

agra - delhi -> Yamuna expressway is not yet officially open - but you can ask the guards "nicely" and pay them them the toll money and zip across to Noida at 120 km/hr average speed on cruise control. 160 kms of pristine 4 laned bliss! Do tank up and check your vehicle as nothing is operational on it. If you breakdown, you may have to wait a very very long time for someone to come and help. No mobile coverage at several places.

Places for staying midway
* Bhimbetka resort - be aware that while this is cheap and has excellent rock shelters with pre-historic carvings, there is a busy railway line next to it (the room's windows open into the line).
However this is worth it if you want to explore the caves and shelter early morning and staff is very helpful. The rock shelters are open at daylight (6:30 AM onwards).

* alternatively, can also stay at new Tawa resort of MPTDC which is 20 Kms off the the main road between Hoshangabad and Bhopal. It is well posted on traffic signage. This is about 50 kms before Bhopal.

Betual Bhopal is OK - did not get craters or exceptionally bad roads. The roads are smooth but single laned, a broken down truck can create a temporary block.

Was not a problem for my Scorpio.

Stopped for some time to get to a few of the bigger "Jalashays" [reservoirs] and to admire what remains of Satpura jungles. There are some patches where I suspect that there will be water overflow on narrow bridges during monsoon season, but I have no experience of this road in monsoons.

while going, did this stretch in afternoon and while coming back during forenoon. I wouldn't want to do this in the night.

I travelled this stretch in the night and I encountered some single lane bridges.
Itarsi town had really bad roads.
The forest nearing Bhopal after Hoshangabad had some bad roads.
If the roads have improved it is good news.

I heard that both the routes are bad

OR
DELHI-GWALIOR-JHANSI-SAGAR-SEONI-NAGPUR-HYD

Compared to the Bhopal route,the Sagar route is better.

The still better route would be Hyd-Solapur-Tembhurni-Karmala-Nagar-Shirdi-Dhule-Indore-Ujjain-Badnawar-Ratlam-Mandasur-Neemuch-Chittorgarh-Kishengarh-Jaipur-Gurgaon-Delhi.Longer but good.

The route was taken by bblost during Rider Mania this year. Following is the Link:

However, in all the routes, roads may break up once it starts raining in earnest. Currently. all roads are fine, and maybe the route via Washim, Indore & Neemuch is quite fast.

Best route at the moment IMO would be Hyd-NH9-Beed-Aurangabad-Dhule-Sendhwa-Dhamnod-Indore-Lebad-Ratlam-Neemuch-Kota-Chittor-Bhilwara-Kishangarh-GVK Eway-Jaipur Bypass-Gurgaon-Delhi

Day 1: Hyd-Aurangabad

Day 2:Aurangabad-Jaipur or Chittor

Day 3: Delhi
