Re: Shirdi, Ajanta, Ellora trip query

Ajanta and Ellora a closed on Monday and Tuesday (or is it the other way round?).

Darshan at Shirdi on Thursday / Saturday / Sunday will be time consuming. Similarly, Saturday at Shani Shingnapur will be crowded.

While going, from Ahmednagar you can proceed to Rahuri and Shirdi. Shani Shingnapur can be done while going from Shirdi to Aurangabad, if you don't want to take the Vaijapur route (Pune - Nagar - Aurangabad road is four lane and good to drive).

You will be able to do the Daulatabad with Ellora. (Isn't the Shiva temple one of the jyotirlings?)

CIDCO area in Aurangabad has good hotels - catering to tourists on various scales.

Ajanta is closed on Monday and Ellora on Tuesday. The Jyotirlinga is the Grishneshwar temple and can be visited on the way to Ellora. Same with Daulatabad.

- Stay at Sankam Belgaum
- Try some hotels in Nagar road. Trip advisor gives quite many.
- Instead of returning stay in Shirdi for the night. And come back the next day. Easy for you and you can also drive
- For Goa search Goa threads. Many suggestions available.
- Road to Hubli: Karwar-Ankola bypass -Hubli. (Best road)
- Where to stay in Hubli : Clarks Inn. Stay in Hubli. You have better options.

Re: Bangalore -> Pune -> Mahabaleshwar -> Lonavala -> Shirdi -> Ajanta & Ellora

Folks,

In have added Ellora to my itinerary while doing 2 nights stay at Shirdi. Have booked evening aarti at Shirdi on Sunday and plan to do Ellora next morning.

Please let me know the road conditions from Shirdi to Ellora and suggest whether the route shown by Google maps below is the right one.

Thanks in advance,
Ktp

I would strongly suggest book a cab from Shirdi and visit these places. Horrible roads around Ellora/Aurangabad. Not worth taking your own vehicle. I drove till Shidi and hired a cab for local sightseeing. Helps resolve all the parking woes too!

A rough plan can be: Visit: Grishmeshwar temple, Ellora, Bhdra Maruti temple and Bibi can Maqbara.

The route is

- Shirdi -> Drive to Kopargargaon
- Exit before towards Vaijapur.
- Get into the town and drive towards Ellora and there on to Aurangabad.

- And return via the direct Vaijapur road.

Thanks a lot Ampere. I will take your advise and hire a cab to do the sight seeing in Shirdi as I do not want to risk damaging my car considering our onward vacation to Gokarna after Shirdi in the itinerary . Hopefully the hotel where we will be staying might be able to book the cab for us.

Yes it works out very well. I did the same. Amazing amount of hotels around Shirdi. You can look online and book. Some of the good ones are Marigold and Shradha Inn.

I already booked Hotel Sai Grand Castle Inn 2 months ago which seems to be 3-4 mins walk to Sai Mandir from the hotel. Any idea/feedback on this hotel?
