Just heard from Ashish Pallod that Anurag is stuck at Sangole between Sangli and Pandharpur since morning, and may stay there today.
Ashish is giving regular updates to Avi and the rest. Thanks for rising to the occasion, Ashish! We are grateful to you.

I'd planned a GOA trip from Bangalore on 1st October' 09 in a SRV, but cancelled late night after watching the situation on some Telugu News Channels. Almost all Telugu News Channels are beaming the Flood situation - 24 hours, but not much information from any Kannada Channels.

From Yesterday, the National English Channels have picked up the Visuals.

Karwar is also Cut off and NH 17 is not in good shape.

---kolhapur-satara-koregaon-pusegaon-pingali---

at pingali, ask about flood situation at mhaswad, today the river manganga is overflowing causing anurag p80 stuck at sangole, if mhaswad route is clear then proceed to mhaswad-pandharpur-solapur otherwise take ---

My Mom and Dad had been to Hyderabad last week and they were suppose to be back to Bangalore tomorrow morning, Still got stuck in Hyderabad.
All Trains and Buses are suspended, Flight Tickets are hiked drastically
6-7k is like too much for Economy Class from Hyd-Blr.

Is there any other better Route via Road to reach Bangalore from Hyderabad ?
I have heard that Hyd-Tirupathi roads are also blocked

Best option for them is to stay put in Hyd rather than get stuck in some unknown place in the middle of nowhere.Flights are the only option as of now which again are going out of schedule as the flights overfly the rain zones. All routes towards BLR go via Kurnool and Kurnool town is submerged and the HYD-Kurnool road is under water at several points.

Wake up buddy. Most of the roads leading to Srisailam is flooded. The last thing you want would be to end up being stuck between overflowing rivulets in the middle of the forest.

I was supposed to leave to HYD from BNG by car today morning @ 5am, fortunately saw the news at midnight and realised how lucky I was to have know the seriousness of flood situation.

I just talked to Avinash who is planning to start at 10:00am tomorrow. I am planning to leave around 5:00am and take the route suggeted by Ashish on email to Avinash just a while back (waiting for the mail from Avinash on the same).

However, as a backup plan, I am thinking of taking the route via Pune.

I need suggestion on how best can I change from NH4 to NH9 without any traffic/road blocks?

I have access to the site through cell and keep updating at intervals on the road. I am sending a PM to Ranjit/Ashish/vnabhi my cell number.

thanks,
Prabin.

The Bangalore - Nizamuddin Rajdhani and Karnataka Sampark Kranti were marooned at Raichur with floods on both sides. The passengers had to be evacuated using temporarily repaired roads to a nearest serviceable railhead and brought to Solapur to resume their journey in standby train rakes from there. Rajdhani passengers will probably reach Delhi 48 hours later than they would have expected.

Ashsish Pallod is the guy to contact on how to transgress from NH4 to NH9 without much pain.
Avinash has started from Panaji around 1230 pm and was near the Goa border when I chatted with him at around 1 pm.

Here's an update on the Hyd guys returning from Goa----mobike008 has just reached Sankeshwar NH4 Jn and is proceeding to Kolhapur. He says it is raining heavily there.

I told him it is sunny today at Hyd, and he should be hopefully having no problems on the way.
