Thanks Ashish, However we have already been to Shiradi earlier, hence decided to skip it this time.

Also is overnight halt at Lonar MTDC safe around new year?

And I am doing the same circuit (Pune-Mumbai-Aurangabad-Shirdi-Pune-Bangalore) starting 9th of this Month.

AP, I had this question for you. How is the road condition between Kolhapur till Aurangabad and what is the best route assuming that I will be in Kolhapur around 1PM?

I simply don't want to drive to Pune, waste time in getting out from Katraj side towards Nagar Road and again drive 250Kms to Aurangabad when there is an alternate route.

DreamDiesel did share me his route a few days before but I would want to check on the latest conditions via Baramati

@Paragsachania. Skipping Pune, not meeting up with me and going directly to Aurangabad from Kolhapur?
Very bad. Very bad.
Anyway, I don't think the roads are good. Better keep to Kolhapur - Katraj - Nagar Road - Ahmed Nagar - Aurangabad.

Illa saaar. I can never skip Pune as there is a family event on 12th. We will surely meet this time. I was just thinking of options to divert away from Pune to Hit Aurangabad and spend a day and then drive to Pune to be there on 12th.

Maharastra trip help

We have 7-9 days in October. We would like to visit Ambajogai, Parli, Ajanta Elora, Shirdi, Ahmednagar. Need help on best route from Bangalore and what all other places we could cover nearby or on the way. We do not prefer night driving, and hate to drive on bad roads, more so because this time we would possibly be taking our A Star.

Please also suggest facilities and good fuel options. Thanks in advance for the help.

It may not help you completely but can give an idea about the places to visit in Maharashtra. Please check all of the HVK's replies.

EDIT: May be you end up applying for more leaves after reading this thread.

Cheers!

your route should be

day1 banglore-nh4-chitrdurga-right turn-nh9-solapur-tuljapur-ausa-latur[ halt]
you can take quick darshan at tuljapur goddess temple.
stay at latur as ambajogai has not good options.
if you are late to reach to latur on that day, stay at solapur.

day 2 latur-ambajogai[ darshan]-parli[drashan]-beed via direct route-nh211-aurangabad[ halt]

day3 aurnagabad-ajantha-aurangabad[halt]

day4 aurangabad-ellora-aurngabad-vaijapur-shirdi[halt]

day 5 shirdi-shani shinganapur[darshan]-ghodegaon-ahmadnagar-pune [halt]

day6 pune-mahabaleshwar[halt]

day 7 mahabaleshwar-kolhapur[halt]

day8-kolhapur[darshan]-nh4-banglore
