| Chittoor - Route Info And Advisable To Travel Now ?

planning on a weekend outing to Chittoor ( in A.P ) from Chennai -
1) what is the best route to take ? - i will start from E.C.R in Chennai
2) is it safe to travel to Chittor in light of the telengana related stuff happening ?
3) Horsley hills is one place close by to visit from Chittoor. any other good places to visit ?
